Team Notes 1. LSU’s game captains were 92 , 1 Brandon LaFell, 38 Derek Helton and 30 . 2. LSU won the toss and deferred to the second half. Louisiana Tech received the opening kickoff. 3. Tigers extending their notable consecutive starts streak tonight were: LT (50), OG Lyle Hitt (30), LB (23) and RT Joseph Barksdale (23). 4. Tigers making their first career starts today: RE Lavar Edwards, C P.J. Lonergan, FB Thomas Parsons. LSU has now used 13 first- time starters in 2009. 5. This was the sixth straight game – Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Tulane, Alabama and Louisiana Tech – LSU did not allow a first-quarter touchdown. 6. LSU improved to 18-1 all time versus Louisiana Tech, 13-0 in Baton Rouge. 7. LSU continues to lead the nation with a 23 game winning streak against non-conference opponents. The streak dates back to the Capital One Bowl against Iowa on Jan. 1, 2005. 8. LSU has also won 27 straight non-conference games in Tiger Stadium, dating back to the 2000 season when the Tigers dropped a 13- 10 decision to UAB. 9. LSU has now won 25 consecutive games over teams from Louisiana. 10. LSU improved to 57-25-3 in Homecoming games. LSU has now won nine straight Homecoming games dating back to 2001. LSU’s last loss on Homecoming was in 2000 when UAB stunned the Tigers, 13-10.

Individual Notes 11. QB tossed his second touchdown pass of the season and 16th of his career on a 38-yard toss and run by Brandon LaFell with 1:55 remaining in the first quarter. 12. RB scored from three yards out with 6:59 remaining in the third quarter. It was Williams’ third rushing TD of the season and 16th of his career. Williams ran for his second touchdown of the game on a nine-yard scamper with 7:01 left in the game. He has run for two TDs in a game five times in his career. a. Williams recorded a season-high 116 yards rushing on 15 carries. It was his third career 100-yard game and first since Virginia Tech on Sept. 8, 2007. 13. WR Brandon LaFell has now caught a pass in 38 straight games (37 of those multiple-reception games) dating back to the 2007 Sugar Bowl versus Notre Dame. a. LaFell’s streak is the fifth longest streak in the nation. Central Michigan’s Bryan Anderson leads the nation with 50 consecutive games with a catch. b. LaFell registered his ninth receiving TD of the season and 23rd of his career on a 38-yard pass play from Jarrett Lee with 1:55 to go in the first quarter. c. LaFell moved into a five-way tie for seventh place in LSU single-season touchdown catches with nine. He stands three scores away from tying the school record of 12 set by Dwayne Bowe in 2006. d. LaFell also is just three TDs away from tying the LSU career record for receiving TDs of 26 set by Dwayne Bowe. 14. LB Jacob Cutrera recorded 11 tackles for the second straight game, which tied his career high for the third time. 15. LB set a new career high with 14 total tackles. His previous best was 12 against Florida this season.
