The second thing that made the visit so special was that the 13 year old daughter of one our own US Airways pilots was at Phoenix Children’s recovering from a stroke suffered in November. All four pageant winners were able to visit with her in her room which CITY: ORF/Norfolk, VA made for a very special day for everyone. PFK is COORDINATOR: Mike Stock fortunate to have such a generous and caring group of PARTICIPANTS: Delta/VFC-12 and UAL volunteers!

On October 21st, PFK volunteers in ORF conducted their first visit for Pilots for Kids at Children’s Hos- pital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD). The group visited six children ranging in age from about 5 to 9 years old. Coordinator Mike Stock purchased small wooden suitcases along with paints and stickers for the youngsters to design their own suitcase. Overall it was a great time. Parents and children all seemed to enjoy the diversion.

Since this is a new city for PFK, Mike and his group plan to visit the hospital again during the holiday sea- son and hope to add more volunteer opportunities.
