WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART The Salzburg Mozart Week – arranged by the Mozarteum Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major, KV 488 foundation, the trustees of Mozart’s musical legacy – is always Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major, KV 219 offering something unique: under the direction of the principal conductor and artistic director of the Salzburg Mozart Week, FRANZ SCHUBERT Mark Minkowski, the Musiciens du Louvre perform on not one Symphony No. 8 in C major, D 944 but two of Mozart’s original instruments! Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Violin Concerto and his Piano Violin Thibault Noally Concerto in A major are played on instruments that were once Fortepiano Francesco Corti in the composer’s possession. Thibault Noally plays the Violin Orchestra Les Musiciens du Concerto on a violin from the workshop of Pietro Antonio Louvre Grenoble Dalla Costa and “conjures up Romantic brilliance from the well Conductor Marc Minkowski maintained instrument”, then Francesco Corti brings Mozart’s fortepiano to life again, thereby spreading “collective Mozart Produced by idagio.production happiness all round” (Salzburger Nachrichten).
