Syeda Khizra Aslam Government College University, Faisalabad, Pakistan. Muhammad Rashid Khan University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. ABSTRACT This study investigates a politico-cultural mapping of leisure and life in Pakistan, a country in South Asia, with a political developmental period in historical perspective from its independence in 1947. A classification of ruling eras is done, and accordingly the paper carries its discussion. A few tables are presented to give the percentage of leisure-time spent, and leisure-activities pursued by Pakistani men and women. The data is from nationally represented samples of 2690 respondents in 2009, and 1294 respondents interviewed in 2012 by Gilani Research Foundation, Pakistan. The findings also include statistics from a research by the authors own empirical study of 2013, from a sample of 222 women respondents in Faisalabad City, Punjab, Pakistan. Key Words: Democratic and military eras, Pakistan, leisure and life, recreational facilities Introduction South Asia is one of the most heavily populated places in the world. The countries within its area are Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka (Cultural Geography of South Asia, 2002). Pakistan and Bangladesh in South Asia have Muslim influence, politico-cultural histories of political conflicts, and different civilizations. Pakistan has seen military rule and instability from time to time. The cultural histories of Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, and Sri Lanka are different.

Control of infectious diseases through use of antimicrobials is a foundation of modern medicine. Use of antimicrobials has enabled implementation of novel therapeutic modalities, secure in the knowledge that infectious complications can be managed. Antimicrobials have contributed to a reduction in infection-related maternal and neonatal mortality, facilitated safe surgical practices, played a role in the successful treatment of cancer and transplant patients and allowed management of infections in all age groups. Antimicrobials have furthermore played a major part in food safety. Use of antimicrobials to prevent diseases in farm animals and in crops allowed increase in agricultural output to sustain the expanding global population.

It is the greatest extensive communal institution of contemporary civilization. It increases social hierarchies of any society, which is based on class, competition, gender and ethnicity. Almost all societies of the world aren’t comfortable that women get involved in games, while it plays a vital role in shaping social, cultural and economic values. Usually Women at their peak lacks in physical and mental strength as compared to men because they cannot sustain fatigue and strain beyond certain limit therefore, they have to compromise their sports careers usually before attaining the highest goal. The objective of this study is to explore different perspectives regarding sports women in sports activities and it also aims to analyze critically the misconceptions regarding women sports. The researcher has used both qualitative and quantitative research method and by using snowball sampling technique collected data through the interview schedule from 210 sports women residing in different places of Pakistan and hence, five case studies are in corporated in this study. The findings of the study highlight that societal misconceptions have strictly prohibited women from sports activities because dominant people create misconceptions regarding women sports in the society according to their own perceptions. It is observed that wrong fallacies regarding sports activities are very strong in the Pakistani society, which restricts women to participate in sports activities.
