LETTER TO THE EDITOR: alternative although usually done only 01 the university For the past six years, since my graduation from level , is to have a class secretary coordinate an alumni Adams , I have wanted to write this letter . As many of you list or have alumni themselves contact the school with seniors have probably already guessed , whether you go information on thier where-abouts to be available fo r on to college or move away from South Bend in pursuit inquiry from fellow classmates . My freshmen year at of employment , it will not be easy to keep in touch with college I briefly entertained the idea of making up a list your friends - even your good friends . of about 25 people from my class that I wanted to keep For the first year of post-high school life, it isn 't too up with and twice a year I could send a photocopied difficult to keep in contact , but I think you'll find that as letter to them . I never did that and now I realize how the years go by you will gradually lose touch with many novel and interesting that would have been. Once you of the very friends you now swear that you'll never lose touch with someone it is usually forever. forget. This past Christmas the batch of Christmas cards my Our high school class had many attempts at staying wife and I received included some from long-lost high unif ied - more so than most classes - and for a couple of school fr iends and it's hard to describe what a great years we accomplished this through New Years Eve feeling it was to renew friendships even if only through parties , a coctail party during the summer of our third the U.S. Mail. I consider myself lucky to still be in regular year out of Adams (with 75 attending) , and of course we touch with a solid core of about ten good high school have passed our first five-year reunion . I don 't even ,chums but even that requires an effort when everyone is know if we had one . scattered around the country. My recommendation , however corny it may sound, is Whatever you may leave behind from your high school that as high school graduates you make a real effort to days don 't let your friends be among them . stay in touch with whomever you will regret , in later years , having lost contact with . It is so easy to do, Tom Vance especially if you don 't enjoy writing letters. One Adams, Class of '74 40 DAVID R. KOEHLER TODAY, MAY 30 CURTIS A. FEY LYMAN C. CURTIS Port-a-Pit JOHN C.
