Ang Blended Learning

Prof. Emma Olila-Sison De La SalleUniversity – Manila Oktubre 28, 2016 Ang 21st Century na Mag-aaral

Whether you are a , a parent, grandparents or guardians, it is important to know that today’s students are widely different from the past generations.

1. Sila ay mga digital ng mga kabataan. – A. Texting sa kanilang cellphones – B. Navigating sa kanilang Ipod – C. Gumagamit ng internet, Blog, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram at iba pang apps . Ang 21st Century na Mag-aaral

14. Kahanga-hanga ang kanilang kakayahan sa pakikipag- kolaborasyon. 15. May kakayahang mag multi-task. 16.

18. May ugaling “kaya ko yan” 19. Epektibo ang kapaligirang humahamon sa kanilang kakayahan. The 21st Century Learners 20. 22. Alam kung saan matatagpuan ang mga impormasyon. The 21st Century Learners 23.  e – means Evolving, Everywhere, Enhanced, Extended.  e- Learning is a learning environment that is supported by continuously evolving, collaborative processes focused on increasing individual and organizational performance.( Robert K. Logan ) Ano ang Blended Learning?

According to Charles Graham blended learning is the convergence between face-to- face learning environments and computer mediated (or distributed) learning environments What is Blended Learning? Kahulugan ng Blended Learning

Learning system that combines face-to- face instruction with computer mediated. Blended learning mostly involves combining internet and digital media with established classroom forms that require the physical co-presence of teacher and students. Bonk and Graham.(2006) Blended Learning

 A mix of face to face and online learning  Lesson set to own pace  Increase opportunities to differentiate. – Learning that mixes various events- based activities including face-to-face classrooms, – Live-e learning and self-paced learning.

• Technology Enhanced Learning Models of Blended Learning

Models of Blended Learning

Models of Blended Learning  5. 6. Blended Learning Students complete an entire course through an online platform with possible teacher check-in. All curriculum and teaching is delivered via digital platform and face-to-face meetings are scheduled. Blended Learning –Blends are characterized by: •Customization •Integration •Purpose •Flexibility –Technology Enhanced Learning Blended learning theories

“Learning theories aren´t like religion. You don´t have to pick Catholic or Baptist or Muslim, and shun the others. The goal is to have the right theory for the right situation.” Allison Rossett

10 Drivers ng Blended Learning Uzon, A &Senturk (2013)  1. 10 Drivers ng Blended Learning Uzon, A & Senturk ( 2013 )  5. Blended Learning

 Blended learning offers improved pedagogy, increased access to knowledge and fostered social interaction between learners. Easy use of multiple modalities in blended learning approach provides better support for different learning style among students.

– Cited by Uzun & Senturk,(2010) The Key

The key to ensuring that blended learning is beneficial to students is to focus on how it enables personalized learning and instruction . Apat na Elemento ng Blended Learning 1. Oras 2. Katapatan 3. Espasyo 4. Pagiging Makatao Disbentahe

Tips sa Blended Learning Ayon kay Carol Tucker  Start Small – There are tons of technologies and tools – Choose one digital tool or technology to try when starting – Become comfortable with one before going onto another  Mistakes Happen – That is how you learn so don’t give up – Ask students for help with technology- they have grown up with it! Tips to Use Blended Learning According to Carol Tucker  Use Technology To Make Life Easier – Don’t just use it to use it – Replace something with technology to make things easier, like a PowerPoint or EduCreations video for a lecture, or a wikipage for a class discussion  Truly Blend Technology – Use it inside and outside the classroom – Online Discussions-continue discussions on topics on sites like Uclass – Expert Group Investigations-students in small groups research a topic online and present using digital tools Tips to Use Blended Learning Ayon kay to Carol Tucker  Everyone Can Get Online – Even if they don’t have internet at home, there is access in the community – Town libraries, school libraries, computer labs – Internet is important and part of Common Core-students need to have access – Explain to parents the importance – In class, work in groups or rotate if not enough computers/tablets Final Word
