The Bend Elks are one of the WCL’s initial franchises. The AppleSox modern-day WCL 2014 series with Bend dates back to 2005. The Elks play at Vince Genna Stadium and are in the Overall 25-21 WCL South Division. League 21-20 Non-league 4-1 Division 12-9 SERIES WITH THE ELKS Home games 12-11 Away games 13-10 The Elks currently stand one game out of first place in the WCL South and are leading Day games 1-1 the WCL Wildcard standings by three games over the AppleSox. Coming into 2014, Bend Night games 24-20 was the only WCL club to hold an overall winning record against the AppleSox. They are 27-24 leaders in the series over the AppleSox in WCL play. The clubs have met in the Series 11-5 playoffs once in 2010 and it was the championship series. The series took three games Home Series 6-2 Away Series 5-3 and the AppleSox won the 2010 WCL crown (W-L-W). The three-game series is scheduled for June 16-17 at Goss Stadium on the campus of Oregon State University in Corvallis. The teams will meet in a 1 p.m. doubleheader on June 16 and in a single game at noon on June 17. The series is run by the Corvallis Knights of the West Coast League, and sponsored by Reser’s Fine Foods and Nike Team Sports. 6A and 5A coaches selected the 20-member teams. The head coaches of the 6A/5A state champions will serve as Oregon All-Star Series skippers and one player will be added to both the North and South to be picked from the state’s four semi-final teams to complete each roster at 21 players. The North swept last year’s series, the first to be played in Corvallis at Goss Stadium. North pitcher Jace Fry of Southridge High School, now pitching at Oregon State, was named the All-Star Series Most Valuable Player.
