TEAMS WHO’S HOT: Bend Elks: Winners of 15 of the last 17 games...feature top-3 hitters in WCL (avg.), top-3 RBI men, tied for top pitcher (wins) WHO’S NOT: Victoria HarbourCats: Have lost seven of their last eight games...2nd worst offense in WCL now at .222 average

LAST WEEK’S BIG PICTURE: For all intensive purposes, Bend has made the WCL South an afterthought...it is likely that the WCL Wild Card will emerge from the West or East divi- sions...Kelowna held its lead out in the very tightly-contested East Divsion this week...Kitsap and Cowlitz are fighting to stick with Bellingham who has won five straight and six of the last seven.

THIS WEEK’S STORYLINE: This week, there are some pivotal series...Kitsap and Victoria have a chance to harm each other in intra-division play...Kelowna can extend its WCL East lead, facing the struggling Gems, and Corvallis and Medford can each push each other further back of Bend, facing Wenatchee...Yakima Valley and Walla Walla also square off, continuing six-consecutive...Cowlitz can attempt to fight back at Bellingham...later Bend faces Medford, Cowlitz and Wenatchee, and Walla Walla and Kelowna are the only divisional games being played.
