To be sure, this is a case study, in the sense that it aspires to provide only an idea as to how ‘the Feminine’ pervades Sufi hierophanics/religion, and also in the sense that it does not assume to be a comprehensive and exhaustive discussion—not even of Yunus Emre himself. Select(ed) poems of Yunus Emre are explored in the methodological light of what Mircea Eliade has dubbed ‘hierophanic dialectics’, and what Catherine Clément and Julia Kristeva regard as ‘the Feminine’ in relation to the sacred/religious from the perspective of social anthropology and psychoanalysis. In the poetry of Yunus Emre ‘the Feminine’ turns out to be the subtle yet decisive challenge, opposition, and subversion that, on the one hand, negates symbolic Islam and, on the other, affirms imaginary Islam in the name of the Islamic real—to evoke the terminology of Jacques Lacan.     LEYLA İLE MECNUN HİKÂYESİ’NİN ŞEYHÜLİSLAM YAHYA DİVANI’NA YANSIMASI Geliş Tarihi (Receieved Date) 09.04.2019 Esma POLAT1 Kabul Tarihi (Accepted Date) 16.04.2019 Özet Leylâ ile Mecnûn, kaynağı Arap edebiyatı olan meşhur bir aşk hikâyesinin kahramanlarıdır. Bu hikâye, klasik Arap, Fars ve Türk edebiyatlarında çokça işlenmiş, bu edebi geleneklere mensup birçok şair tarafından mesnevi formunda müstakil birer eser olarak kaleme alınmıştır. Divan şairleri, Leylâ ile Mecnûn hikâyesini mesnevî türü çerçevesinde anlatmakla yetinmemiş, divanlarında sıklıkla bu hikâyeye telmihte bulunmuşlardır. 16. yüzyılın meşhur divan şairi olan Fuzûlî’nin Leylî vü Mecnûn adlı mesnevisini kaleme almasından sonra divan şairlerinin bu hikâyeye olan ilgisi artmış, divanlarda bu kahramanların isimleri daha sık anılır olmuştur. 17. yüzyıl divanları içinde bu iki aşk kahramanının en çok anıldığı eser, Şeyhülislam Yahyâ Divan’ıdır. Yahyâ Efendi, birçok gazelinde bu kahramanlara telmihte bulunmakla kalmamış, Mecnûn’u Arap kaynaklarında geçen künyesi ile anmak suretiyle Kays redifli müstakil bir gazel dahi kaleme almıştır. Bu cihetle, makalemizde bu iki efsânevî kahramanın Yahyâ Divanı’na nasıl yansıdığı incelenmiş; bu çerçevede ele alınan beyitler, başta tasavvuf olmak üzere çeşitli anlam çerçeveleri içinde değerlendirilmeye gayret edilmiştir. This story has been written in classical Arabic, Persian and Turkish literatures as a masnavi by the many poets of these literary traditions. Not only have divan poets told this story in the form of masnavi but they have also often referred to this story in their divans.

MINIATURES OF THE MASNAVI LEYLA AND MAJNUN IN TURKISH HISTORICAL SOCIETY LIBRARY Sevda EMLAK* ABSTRACT This study aimed at examining the miniatures in the masnavi of Leyla and Majnun, which was written to tell about the love, devotion, and transformation of human love into divine love. Within this scope, after describing the miniatures, iconographic analyzes have been emphasized and information has been given with respect to the shapes and colors of the depictions. The results demonstrated that these miniatures include occasions with respect to love between Leyla and Majnun. Although there are many subjects, this manuscript includes only six miniatures and the artist primarily preferred emotional scenes to be illustrated. The manuscript includes no information concerning the copy date and the author. In light of these details, the copy of Fuzuli’s masnavi Leyla and Majnun might have been illustrated between XVIII-XIXth centuries. This study introduces the masnavi of Leyla and Majnun to science and art literature as it is a special version in which literature and art meets and co-exists together.
