Aber da gibt es noch so viel mehr zu entdecken im riesigen Klanguniversum des Kaliforniers mit Wohnsitz Portland. Der Guardian geht entsprechend weiter, lobte seine bislang zehn Alben und nannte ihn „einen eigenbrötlerischen Autor, der seine Anregungen im Blues, Folk, Country, Art-Rock und sonst wo findet und in jedem dieser Genre gleichermaßen versiert ist“.
