Grüner Veltliner, Alex Siedler, Traisental DAC Reserve , Austria 2012 £32.00 This is a lovely, spicy white wine with apple aromas; it is the highest quality possible with only a small amount made each year. La Barry Sauvignon Blanc, Meinert, Elgin South Africa 2014 £34.00 Refreshing and zesty Sauvignon Blanc. Meinert Winery is fairly new- only established in 1980s- but already one of the best in South Africa. (We also have their amazing red wine- Cabernet Sauvignon!) ‘Issué’ Bernardo Estevez, Ribeiro, Galicia Spain 2012 £35.00 Absolutely amazing, limited edition wine from Galicia. Bernardo, the winemaker, only grows grapes on an area that he is able to walk across in one day and dislikes any unnecessary additives... The resulting wine is truly sensational, round and creamy with nicely balanced acidity and pleasant fruit flavours. Real treat- only 2950 bottles produced! Chablis Luis Michel & Fils, Burgundy France 2014 £36.00 Classic un-oaked Chardonnay from Burgundy! Fresh with high acidity, notes of green apples and lemon and pleasant mineral character. Gewurztraminer ‘Katz’ Clement Klur, Katzenthal, Alsace France 2012 £36.00 Very good wine from a small organic family run winery. Easy drinking, great with our Quail and Guinea Fowl dishes. 75cl White wines (continued) Bottle Cannonball Chardonnay, Sonoma County, California USA 2012 £36.00 Amazing full-bodied wine with lovely pineapple notes. Domaine Shlumberger Pinot Gris ‘Les Princes Abbes’, Alsace France 2012 £38.00 Off-dry and full-bodied wine from Alsace. Excellent food wine from a traditional producer- minimum intervention in production and no pesticides used in the vineyard. Little Beauty Sauvignon Blanc ‘Black Label’ Marlborough, New Zealand 2012 £55.00 Not the usual Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand! This little beauty was fermented in wooden barrels and then partially aged in some more oak to make it complex, delicious and full-bodied. Sancerre Domaine Vacheron, Loire Valley France 2014 £40.00 Sauvignon Blanc at its best. Dry with aromatic nose and pleasant gooseberry fruit flavours. Saint Romain Bertrand Ambroise, Burgundy France 2011 £48.00 Medium body, apple flavours with smoky and nutty aromas. Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine Pierre Andre, Rhône Valley France 2011 £68.00 Excellent full-bodied and complex! Exceptional wine made by an extremely passionate producer using biodynamic methods. We may not totally agree with his philosophy and the influence of the lunar cycle on vineyard but he surely knows his grapes well and therefore we trust the final product! Excellent match with duck! Primitivo ‘Amanti del Vino’ Salento, Puglia Italy 2013 £28.00 Soft, smooth and fruity wine. Excellent on its own but matches well with lighter meat or vegetarian dishes. Heartland Shiraz, Langhorne Creek, Australia 2013 £34.00 Great big wine that matches incredibly well with red meat. Carménère ‘Falernia’ Reserva Valle de Elqui, Chile 2013 £32.00 Outstanding wine with pronounced ripe plum flavours with a hint of spiciness and smooth tannins. Absolutely AMAZING! Cote de Brouilly Chateau Thivin, Beaujolais, Burgundy France 2013 £34.00 Smooth, soft and youthful wine with strawberry flavours and silky tannins.
