Brimhall, 71, Idaho Falls 2nd Ward, Idaho Falls Idaho Stake, called as president of the Idaho Falls Temple, succeeding Pres. C. Gayle Williams. Pres. Brimhall's wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Poole Brimhall, will serve as temple matron. Pres. Brimhall served as president of the family history missionaries in Salt Lake City, stake president, stake president's counselor and bishop. Retired from the U.S. Department of Energy. He attended Ricks College, BYU, Texas Tech and received a juris doctorate from the University of Idaho. He was born in Glendale, Utah, to William S. and Emma Swapp Poole. Sister Brimhall served with her husband on the family history and New Zealand missions, and in ward and stake Relief Society presidencies, as Primary president's counselor and as stake family history consultant. She was born in Rexburg, Idaho, to Harry L. and Ann Hansen Poole. George I. Cannon, 73, Parleys 6th Ward, Salt Lake Parleys Stake, called as president of the Salt Lake Temple, succeeding Pres. Spencer H. Osborn. Pres. Cannon's wife, Isabel Hales Cannon, will serve as temple matron. Pres. Cannon served in the Second Quorum of the Seventy from 1986-91, and was president of the Philippines/Micronesia and North America Southwest areas. He has also been president of the England Birmingham Mission, regional representative, stake president, temple sealer, patriarch and counselor in the YMMIA general presidency. A retired vice president of a life insurance company, he received a bachelor's degree from BYU. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to George J. and Lucy Grant Cannon. Sister Cannon served with her husband in the Philippines and England, and is a former Young Women and Relief Society president and teacher in the auxiliaries. She was born in Ephraim, Utah, to Wayne B. and Belle Wilson Hales. Myron L. Francom, 72, East Mill Creek 15th Ward, Salt Lake East Mill Creek Stake, called as president of the Manila Philippines Temple, succeeding Pres. F. Briton McConkie. Pres. Francom's wife, Genevieve Pettit Francom, will serve as temple matron. Pres. Francom, a temple sealer and supervisor, served as temple president's counselor, high councilor, high priests group leader, and bishop's counselor. A retired printer, he worked 30 years with Deseret Press. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to William LeGrande and Laura Boley Francom. Sister Francom is a former assistant temple matron, temple ordinance and administrative worker, stake and ward Relief Society president and ward Primary president. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Archibald Newell and Genevieve Johnson Pettit. Elder L. Lionel Kendrick, 61, Eagle Gate 2nd Ward, Salt Lake Eagle Gate Stake, called as president of the Dallas Texas Temple, succeeding Pres. Veigh J. Nielson. His wife, Myrtis Noble Kendrick, will serve as temple matron. Pres. Kendrick is a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy. He is second counselor in the Young Men general presidency and former president of the Philippines/Micronesia Area. Before he was called as a General Authority he served as president of the Florida Tampa Mission, regional representative and stake president. A former professor of health education and director of the regional training center at East Carolina University, he received bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in education from Louisiana State University. He was born in Baton Rouge, La., to Bonnie Delen and Edna Campbell Forbes Kendrick. Kendrick is a former counselor in Young Women and Primary, seminary teacher and Relief Society instructor. She was born in Pride, La., to Willard J. and Tressie Leon Aucoin Noble. Elder Gerald E. Melchin, 72, Eagle Gate 2nd Ward, Salt Lake Eagle Gate Stake, called as president of the Toronto Ontario Temple, succeeding Pres. Arnold N.P. Roberts. Elder Melchin's wife, Evelyn Knowles Melchin, will serve as temple matron. Elder Melchin is a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy, and is a counselor in the North America Southwest Area. He is a former mission president, regional representative, stake president and bishop. A retired automotive and auto transport executive, he attended Angus Business College and later served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was born in Kitchener, Ontario, to Arthur and Rosetta Willis Melchin. Sister Melchin is a former stake and ward Relief Society president, teacher in the auxiliaries, stake music chairman and choir leader. She was born in Pocatello, Idaho, to Clarance W. and Isabelle Myler Knowles. C. Elliott Richards, 70, Salt Lake Ensign 5th Ward, Salt Lake Ensign Stake, called as president of the Jordan River Temple, succeeding Pres. Wm. Grant Bangerter. Pres. Richard's wife, Margaret Farnsworth Richards, will serve as temple matron. Pres. Richards, executive secretary to the Philippines/Micronesia Area presidency, is a former mission president, stake president's counselor, high councilor and bishop. A pediatrician, he received a bachelor's degree and medical degree from the University of Utah. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Joel and Georgina Felt Richards. Sister Richards, who served with her husband in the Philippines, is a former member of the Young Women general board, a former Young Women and Primary president and teacher in the auxiliaries.
