The Education Foundation announces recipients of inaugural HBCU Book Scholarships
Towson, MD -- The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools is proud to announce the recipients of the inaugural 2020-2021 HBCU Book Scholarships. (The letters “HBCU” are an acronym for Historically Black Colleges and Universities.)
The $500 scholarships were awarded to BCPS graduating seniors who attended the annual BCPS HBCU College Fair held virtually on Nov. 11, 2020. Recipients were chosen based on the quality of their submitted applications (including an essay) and their intent to attend an HBCU.
The students receiving scholarships are:

The HBCU Book Scholarships were funded through the foundation’s RISE for a Brighter Future (Relief in Securing Education) campaign, which was established at the onset of the COVID-19 global pandemic. The campaign focuses on providing toolkits (academic, therapeutic, and social emotional learning) as well as book bundles to support students’ academic progress and wellbeing.
