Key Facts – Laureus Ambassadors KEY FACTS – LAUREUS AMBASSADORS Die Laureus Botschafter sind eine ausgewählte Gruppe aus aktiven und ehemaligen Sportler/innen, die großartige sportliche Leistungen zu verzeichnen oder im Laufe ihrer Karriere mit bedeutenden Beiträgen zur sportlichen Gemeinschaft beigetragen haben. Die Botschafter sind Vorbilder und stehen für Erfolg. Neben den Sportler/innen sind auch bedeutende Persönlichkeiten außerhalb des Sports Laureus Botschafter. Sie alle haben gemeinsam, dass sie für junge Menschen in ihrem Land eine Inspiration sind. Die Laureus Botschafter unterstützen die Arbeit der Laureus Academy Mitglieder und stellen sich ehrenamtlich zur Verfügung, um deren Mission, mit der Kraft des Sports soziale Probleme zu bewältigen, zu unterstützen. Seit seiner Gründung hat Laureus Sport for Good über 150 Projekte in 35 Ländern gefördert. Die Laureus Botschafter bringen ihre Erfahrung und Expertise in die Projekte von Laureus Sport for Good ein und glauben daran, dass der Sport Barrieren überwinden, Menschen zusammenbringen und das Leben junger Menschen verbessern kann. Derzeit unterstützen mehr als 180 Botschafter die Arbeit von Laureus Sport for Good. Neue Botschafter werden nach Ermessen der Laureus World Sports Academy aufgenommen. Im Gegensatz zur Laureus World Sports Academy ist das Botschafterprogramm sowohl für aktive als auch für ehemalige Sportler/innen offen.     EUROPEAN TRIATHLON UNION ETU EVENT STATUS: 2001 – 2016 1. INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this document is to provide details about the status of the past and current ETU Events, including strengths and weaknesses. Recommendations will follow each section to provide an opportunity for further discussion with ITU and at the various levels at ETU. ETU main goals on events are: a) Increase the general participation of triathlon and all related multisport in all age-group categories within Europe; b) Provide opportunities for young athletes to access the sport; c) Keep gender balance on all level of competitions; d) Provide a pathway to grow from youth athlete to elite athletes competing at the Olympic Games. 2. GENERAL: A thorough review of the Competition System is required due to: a) the growing number of ITU events in Europe; b) the increased number of participants in all categories; c) the growing demands of Paratriathlon being integrated in the sport; d) the increased number of private international event organising companies wanting to align with our system. 3. ETU TRIATHLON EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS: is the main event of ETU. The event package consist of the following races: elite Olympic Distance Triathlon, the junior Sprint Triathlon event, the Age Group OD and sprint Triathlon, the elite and junior mixed relay, an opening ceremony and the organisation of the ETU Annual General Assembly. ETU is asking to pay an event fee and prize money for both the elite individual event as the elite mixed relay. Having the event live broadcasting is recommended but not mandatory. This means that the LOC has to invest a substantial amount into this organisation.

The IPC Athletes’ Council is the collective voice of Paralympic athletes within the IPC and the greater Paralympic Movement. As the liaison between IPC decision-makers and Paralympic athletes, the IPC Athletes’ Council works to provide effective input into decision-making at all levels of the organisa- tion. To this end, the IPC Athletes’ Council works to ensure effective athlete representation on all IPC committees and commissions as well as to create other opportunities for athlete representation both within and outside the IPC. For example, the IPC Athletes’ Council enjoys cross representation with the IOC Athletes’ Commission. 2016 IPC Athletes’ Council elections Elections for the six summer sport representatives on the Athletes’ Council will take place between 5 and 16 September, in the #ProudParalympian space of the Athletes’ Dining Hall in the Paralympic Village. All “Aa” accredited athletes are entitled to vote. Athletes must vote for six candidates (not more not less).
