The Tucson Show is coming up soon. Because of extenuating circumstances, Our Tucson Field trip will be a self guided tour. The following are “Must Go To” Shows this year:

Wednesday Feb. 12: Come down early and get your feet wet and do some shopping. Two restaurants:

Chopstix Asian Dinner 2830 S Palo Verde Rd.

Lin’s Grand Buffet 1068 E. Tucson Marketplace Blvd

There are many other good restaurants in Tucson. These are two the club has liked.

Thursday Feb 13 9:00 am Tucson Show Place 10:00 am Tucson Gem and Mineral Club Show at the Convention Center 1:00 pm Days Inn, Pueblo Inn, Howard Johnsons, 22nd St. Show, Tucson Hotel.

You will need to be extremely focused to see all of these. You could spend a day at each place! Most of these shows will be closing down soon so best buys can be made on the 13th and 14th.

Friday Feb 14 The Kino Show. Plan on a whole day or more. There are close to 50 venues this year. I have a friend who spends 7 or 8 days shopping at these shows.

Information about the shows is available on the Internet. Look up the Tucson Shows. A couple hour’s research will save you days at the show. In years past (like the last 20 years) we have stayed at the Americas Best Value Inn at 818 E. Benson Hwy. Call 928-884-5800. They have new ownership and I have had a difficult time getting a special rate. In years past we have gotten rooms for $69.00 plus tax. If any of you find rooms that are decent for around that amount please call me and I will spread the word. Many rooms are double or triple that. Have fun! This will be a real adventure and an opportunity to find some treasures you may keep for a life time.

If you have questions, feel free to call me. Pat McMahan 928-300-8333
