CONTINUING 2019 • Alabama will begin its final stretch of conference play by hosting the Sunday, Oct. TEAM COMPARISON 27 at 1 p.m. CT . LAST TIME OUT: ALABAMA DEFEATS MISSOURI, 2-1 CRIMSON TIDE • he Alabama soccer team came out on top against the Mizzou Tigers, 2-1, at the Audrey J. Walton Stadium, earning their fourth conference win. 2019 Record 9-4-3 • The Crimson Tide started the match with a strong and early start, earning the lead within the 2019 SEC Record 4-2-2 first two minutes. Freshman Carlee Giammona scored her second goal of the season just under Goals Leader Mattingly (5) the two-minute mark with an assist by junior Chloe Maize. However, the Mizzou Tigers found the equalizer six minutes later with a successful penalty kick from Julissa Cisneros. Both teams fought Assists Leader Wertz (6) aggressively throughout the first 45 minutes earning a combined 15 fouls, but the squads entered Points Leader Wertz (14) halftime at a stalemate. • Sophomore forward Riley Mattingly secured the game-winner in the 63rd minute with a penalty NCAA Appearances 3 goal, marking her fifth of the season. She now leads the Tide in goals, surpassing junior Casey Head Coach Wes Hart Wertz who sits at four. Record at Alabama (Years) 43-40-11 (5) • The Tide outshot the Tigers, 11-10 with 3 shots on goal. Mattingly lead the team with four shots, followed by Giammona with three. • A season high of five yellow cards were issued throughout the match (3- Alabama, 2- Missouri). AUBURN TIGERS • Freshman goalkeeper AJ Crooks collected five saves throughout the match, including two key deflections in a 30-second span in the second half to keep the 1-1 score. She extends her school 2019 Record 6-8-2 record of having the most wins for a freshman in goal - five total and four within the conference. • This the third win against Missouri in program history with the last victory on Oct. 22, 2017 ending 2019 SEC Record 3-5-0 in a 3-2 triumph in overtime in Tuscaloosa. Goals Leader Folds (6) • Coach Wes Hart’s post-game comments: “What a great result. It was not the most attractive game we’ve played, but credit to Mizzou for making it difficult on us. This is a huge win for us in our Assists Leader Folds (3) quest for a first round bye in Orange Beach and a bid to the NCAA Tournament.” Points Leader Folds (15) NCAA Appearances 16 ABOUT ALABAMA • The Tide has a current record of 9-4-3, 4-2-2 against SEC opponents. Head Coach Karen Hoppa • The win over Missouri extends Alabama’s unbeaten streak to six games. This is the sixth time in Record at School (Years) 243-161-41 (21) program history our streak has reached six games with the last time being in 2002. • Junior forward Casey Wertz leads the team with 14 points (4g-6a). Wertz concluded the 2018 season as the team’s top scorer with 16 points (8g). • Freshman Carlee Giammona leads the squad with 46 shots taken, followed by Mattingly with 40. • Through 16 matches this season, Alabama has seen 12 different players score a goal. • All of Alabama’s losses this year have come to ranked opponents. • No. 23 – Virginia Tech, No. 16 – Arkansas, No. 8 – South Carolina

2019 SEC PLAY • The Crimson Tide sits at fifth place in the conference standings. • The Crimson Tide notched its fourth conference win against Missou. We have the second-highest unbeaten streak in the league with six games, following No. 8 South Carolina who currently has a streak of eight games. • Two of the four conference wins have extended into overtime periods. These two in addition to the two draws marks four conference matches that have exceeded regulation time. • Alabama has scored 14 goals against SEC opponents so far, with their opponents scoring only 12. • The Tide has put up a whopping 135 shots, including 29 versus Tennessee, the second highest this season (34 - Lamar). • Alabama earned its third tie (1-1) against a ranked opponent in program history to No. 17 Texas A&M, with the last time on Oct. 3, 2014 ending in a 1-1 tie against No. 24 South Carolina. SEC STANDINGS • Both conference losses have come to ranked teams - Arkansas (16) and South Carolina (8). ALABAMA’S NON-CONFERENCE CAMPAIGN Arkansas 13-2-1 (7-1-0) - 21 Points • Alabama concluded non-conference play with a record of 5-2-1. South Carolina 12-1-2 (6-0-2) - 20 Points • The Tide outscored its opponents 17-6, outshot them 135-63 and earned 67 corner kicks with their Florida 10-6-0 (6-2-0) - 18 Points opponents only earning 15. Texas A&M 11-3-3 (5-2-1) - 16 Points • Goalkeepers Alex Plavin and A.J. Volunteer Assistant Rachael Collins (First Season) • A native of Spokane, Wash., Crooks collected six saves against No. 17 Texas A&M, helping Alabama to its first non-loss against a ranked opponent of the season, a 1-1 tie. Her goal assisted in the Tide earning their All-Time Record 254-254-37/28 Seasons second consecutive SEC win. SEC Record 86-156-28 • Week 6 Team of the Week: A.J. Crooks (GK) | Her role was essential in the Tide’s 2-1 overtime Overall Home Record 145-86-16 win against Tennessee earning her a spot on this select team. Appearing in just her third college First Season 1986 game and her first against an SEC opponent, Crooks made three saves and earned her second SEC Tournament Record 3-10 win of the season.
