As of 9 a.m. this morning, San Francisco has 3,249 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19, 48 deaths and 125,859 total test results reported. Here is a link to the San Francisco COVID-19 Data Tracker if you are interested in delving deeper into data for the CCSF. Please note, these numbers may not accurately reflect the actual number of cases due to limited testing and asymptomatic cases.

According to Gov. Newsom today California had a record 7,149 new confirmed coronavirus cases Tuesday, a 69% increase in two days. While the number of daily tests has increased, the percent that come back positive is also ticking up, to 5.1% average over the past 14 days and 5.6% over the past seven days. There has been a 29% increase in hospitalizations of coronavirus patients over the past 14 days, to 4,095.

The Mayor Breed announced the next phase of the City’s reopening will begin next Monday. Some businesses and activities originally planned to open in mid-July or later will be allowed to open, including hair salons, barbers, museums, zoos, tattoo parlors, massage establishments, nail salons and outdoor bars. Registration is still open for the Virtual COVID-19 Conference on July 10-11. The Conference will take place online on the last day of AIDS 2020: Virtual. It will feature a free-of-charge, stand-alone programme of plenary, invited-speaker and abstract-driven sessions exclusively dedicated to the COVID-19 pandemic. Confirmed speakers include Dr and Ambassador Deborah Birx, MD, who are both members of the US White House COVID-19 Task Force, and Professor Salim Abdool Karim, Director of CAPRISA and Chair of the South African Ministry of Health COVID-19 Advisory Committee/COVID-19 MAC, among other experts working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 response.
