FOX SPORTS BEGINS FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP COVERAGE
Real Madrid Looks To Add World Title to 2014 Resume
Los Angeles - FOX Sports’ exclusive coverage of the FIFA Club World Cup tournament kicks- off next week with coverage of three quarterfinal matches. In total, FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2 and FOX Soccer Plus are scheduled to carry eight matches live beginning Dec. 10, culminating with the final on Dec. 20. The FIFA Club World Cup features the top clubs from each of the six continental confederations plus the league winner of host nation Morocco.
After winning the all-Spanish UEFA Champions League Final this year, Real Madrid now looks to add the title of world’s best club to its accomplishments in 2014. Los Blancos, along with Argentinian side San Lorenzo, have already qualified for spots in the semifinals. Real Madrid’s semifinal is slated for Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 2:00 PM ET on FOX Sports 1.
Next week’s coverage begins with the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Dec. 10 (2:20 PM ET) as African Football champions and host Moghreb Tetouan take on the Oceania Football Confederation’s representative Auckland City on FOX Soccer Plus. In addition to Real Madrid’s semifinal on FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2 is slated to air the remaining matches including the final on Dec. 20.
John Strong hosts studio coverage on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2 from the FOX Network Center in Los Angeles, with analysts Warren Barton and Cobi Jones. JP Dellacamera and Brian Dunseth have the call for select matches, including Real Madrid’s semifinal, the fifth-place match and the final. Below please find the complete schedule, subject to change.
