Passion, hard work, and persistence are required to accomplish this. However, the truly extraordinary thing about scientific research is that anyone who has these qualities can help push the boundaries of the collective knowledge of humanity. At Prairie View A&M University, with President Ruth Simmons's support, the Division of Research & Innovation is committed to fostering a community to help emerging undergraduate and graduate researchers flourish early in their academic careers. This initiative provides professional mentorship and multiple research opportunities. I am pleased to share with you the student researchers and their research work featured in this booklet. These undergraduate students exemplify Prairie View A&M University's motto, "Prairie View Produces Productive People." With their faculty mentors' guidance, these students learned firsthand the skills and dedication required to conduct cutting-edge experiments, whether in a laboratory or the field. They know the importance of research dissemination that contributes to the global body of work in their disciplines. This wealth of knowledge, training, and experience has established a strong foundation and positioned them for a successful career. We are thankful to our student researchers, faculty mentors, reviewers, editors and the 2021 Research & Innovation Week planning committee for their commitment to making this virtual event a success. I especially commend those who worked tirelessly with the students, knowing that their contributions of time and effort could result in a student choosing to pursue graduate studies and, more specifically, a research-oriented career. Dada (Faculty Mentor) Roy G. Perry College of Engineering, Chemical Engineering Prairie View A & M University Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) is a subpart of computer science that focuses on the development of programs to enable computers perform tasks that usually require human intelligence. In this project, we shall explain AI in general, analyze logic behind AI, and identify promising opportunities of AI Application in chemical industries, where AI
