(2) Notes that the Member for Wallsend supports Newcastle Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes' offer to make Newcastle the Matildas home base, a plan that brings economic and cultural benefits to the Hunter. (3) Urges the Minister for Sport to consider putting Newcastle forward as the home base for the Matildas. (2) Recognises the important work of current and former staff from the Commonwealth Departments of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Immigration, Attorney-General, the Australian Federal Police and Australian Border Force who, in conjunction with the Australian Defence Force, play a vital role in national security. (3) Commends Soldier On for providing mental health and support services to current and former members of those agencies and looks forward to welcoming Soldier On to Manly. (2) Notes that a tender to operate x-ray and imaging services at the hospital was announced 12 months ago, and no announcements have been made since. (3) Thanks the nurses, doctors and staff at the hospital for doing all that they can to meet the healthcare needs of our community without adequate diagnostic tools. (4) Condemns the Government for failing to provide resources to Tomaree Community Hospital to meet the healthcare needs of the residents of Port Stephens. (2) Notes that palliative care helps to prevent and relieve suffering by means of early identification, assessment and treatment of physical, psychosocial, and spiritual problems for patients facing the end of their life. (3) Notes the failure of the Government to hold a palliative care roundtable on the Central Coast, despite hosting roundtables in other regions around New South Wales. (4) Condemns the Government's refusal to properly support palliative care services for the Central Coast. (Notice given 12 October 2017—lapses 13 April 2018) 2503 FUNDING FOR PRINCES HIGHWAY SOUTH COAST UPGRADES MR GARETH WARD to move— That this House: (1) Supports the record investments in the Princes Highway through the lllawarra and South Coast. (2) Notes that the Commonwealth Government has not provided any funding for major upgrades between Gerringong and Bomaderry. (3) Calls on the Commonwealth Government to commit to funding 80 percent of future upgrades on the South Coast, similar to the Pacific Highway on the North Coast. (4) Calls on both sides of federal politics to commit to an 80⁄20 funding split for all future Princes Highway upgrade projects. (5) Notes the petition commenced by the Member for Kiama and the Member for South Coast seeking a fair deal from the Commonwealth Government for the funding of upgrades of the Princes Highway. (Notice given 12 October 2017—lapses 13 April 2018) 2504 BLUE MOUNTAINS - PUBLIC HOUSING MS TRISH DOYLE to move— That this House: (1) Considers that recent wage and economic growth data indicates that while Gross Domestic Product has risen, wages have stagnated, and rents across Sydney and the Blue Mountains have increased dramatically. (2) Notes that expected waiting times for public housing in the Blue Mountains region varies from between five and ten years for a one or two bedroom residences and more than 10 years for a three or four bedroom residences.
