National Chambal Sanctuary Conditions For Participating In Birds Survey 07th February to 21st February 2020

Madhya Pradesh Forest Department ( Circle) is arranging a Bird Survey in the National Chambal Sanctuary, along the Parvati-Chambal river, from , till Bhind. It will start from Badodibindi (near Sheopur) and end at Pachnanda (Sankri Dist. Bhind). This stretch is known for the habitat of Ghariyal and Muggar population. The area is also flocked by migratory birds during the winter season. This year for the firs time the department is soliciting public participation as an outreach program and is inviting applications from the interested bird watchers.

The main highlights of the bird survey are as follows: a. The participant should be 18 years of age and can walk minimum 7-8 kms per day. Major part of the survey will be majorly by boat only but based on the terrain, participants may need to do some walk apart from the boat. b. Participant should have the ability to identify the birds, This criteria will be the main for final selection. c. The finally selected participants have to bear the too & fro costs of travel up to nearby district headquarter, thereafter the forest department will take care of the logistics and food. d. Participants must compulsorily fill the Indemnity Bond and submit hard copy at the time of registration. e. Last Date of receiving of forms is 26th January 2020. f. Finally selected participants will be intimated on email on or before 27th January 2020. g. Finally selected participants must report to the concerned location provide by the forest department as per the leg selected/allotted. Detailed information will be shared once selection is done. h. Survey will be conducted from 09/00hrs to 17.00 hrs each day. i. There are total 06 legs of the survey, Maximum of 04 participants will be accommodated in one leg. j. Participants must bring binocular, camera is optional. k. Participants must bring woolen cloths and other necessary medicines as required. l. Participants needs to submit the photographs taken during the survey to the management, due credit will be given to the photographer if photo is used for any official purpose. Please carry downloading cord/software. m. Management of National Chambal Sanctuary or any of the supporting NGO’s/staff will not be responsible in case if any accidents occurs during the bird survey period. n. Consumption of liquor or cigarettes is prohibited; Any violation of forest act will lead to further criminal prosecution of the participants as per the law of the land. o. Forest Department will make simple arrangements of stay and food during the Bird Survey period. p. Violation of any of the conditions above and others as told during the orientation talk will make the participants liable to be summarily sent back of the process and management may impose life time ban on entry inside the sanctuary. q. Depending on the weather conditions plan may change at the last moment.
