Powerhouse Producer Bruna Papandrea Confirmed for the 2016 Screen Forever Conference, Melbourne Australia MEDIA RELEASE: 27 October 2016 POWERHOUSE PRODUCER BRUNA PAPANDREA CONFIRMED FOR THE 2016 SCREEN FOREVER CONFERENCE, MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA Screen Producers Australia is delighted to announce Australian born, US based producer Bruna Papandrea as one of the keynote speakers for SCREEN FOREVER 2016, the premier conference for the screen industry in Australia. Bruna Papandrea runs her own US and Australian film and television production company, Make Movies. Prior to that she launched and operated the production company PACIFIC STANDARD with Reese Witherspoon. With a strong focus on female driven content, Pacific Standard acquired and adapted into film the bestselling books WILD by Cheryl Strayed, starring Reese Witherspoon and directed by Jean Marc Vallee, and GONE GIRL by Gillian Flynn, directed by David Fincher. WILD garnered two Oscar nominations and GONE GIRL has made over 300 million worldwide. They then produced the comedy HOT PURSUIT, starring Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara. Bruna Papandrea recently executive produced the limited series BIG LITTLE LIES starring Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley and Laura Dern for HBO. Adapted by David E Kelly from the bestselling novel by Liane Moriarty and directed by Jean Marc Vallee, the series will debut in February 2017. Papandrea optioned the rights to WARM BODIES and produced the Summit Entertainment box office hit through her company MAKE MOVIES. Previously she was president of Michael London’s Groundswell Productions, and served as a producer at Anthony Minghella and Sydney Pollack’s Mirage Enterprises for a number of years. Papandrea's producing credits include Andrew Jarecki’s ALL GOOD THINGS, Noam Murro’s SMART PEOPLE and Jonathan Teplitzky’s BETTER THAN SEX. She also executive produced the highly acclaimed MILK from Gus Van Sant. "Bruna Papandrea has had an extraordinary career.     THE 2020 INVESTOR DAY PROGRAMMING FACT SHEET ©Disney Today at The Walt Disney Company’s Investor Day event, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy announced an impressive number of exciting Disney+ series and new feature films destined to expand theStar Wars galaxy like never before. Introducing the Disney+ slate, Kennedy said, “We have a vast and expansive timeline in the Star Wars mythology spanning over 25,000 years of history in the galaxy—with each era being a rich resource for storytelling. Now with Disney+, we can explore limitless story possibilities like never before and fulfill the promise that there is truly a Star Wars story for everyone.” Among the 10 projects announced for Disney+ is “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” starring Ewan McGregor, with Hayden Christensen returning as Darth Vader, in what Kennedy called, “the rematch of the century.” Also announced are two new series from Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, off-shoots of the multiple Emmy®-winning “The Mandalorian.” “Rangers of the New Republic” and “Ahsoka,” a series featuring the fan-favorite character Ahsoka Tano, will take place in “The Mandalorian” timeline. Kennedy announced that the next Star Wars feature film, releasing in December 2023, will be “Rogue Squadron,” which will be directed by Patty Jenkins of the “Wonder Woman” franchise. In July 2022, the next installment of the “Indiana Jones” franchise premieres, starring Harrison Ford, who reprises his iconic role. The film is directed by James Mangold. Following are the announced projects, listed in announcement order under the Disney+ and feature film headers: DISNEY+ Ahsoka After making her long-awaited, live-action debut in “The Mandalorian,” Ahsoka Tano’s story, written by Dave Filoni, will continue in a limited series, Ahsoka, starring Rosario Dawson and executive produced by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau.
