All Is Not Well Among Hulu's 'Nine Perfect Strangers' 07.22.2021 Nine Perfect Strangers show up at a boutique resort to seek healing from Nicole Kidman's mysterious wellness guru Masha in Hulu's upcoming limited series based on the best-selling novel by Liane Moriarty (Big Little Lies). Soon, however, the guests realize they aren't receiving the spa treatments, massages and yoga classes they were expecting as they participate in strange activities, such as digging their own graves and lying in them. Besides Kidman, the eight-episode series stars Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Bobby Cannavale, Regina Hall, Samara Weaving, Melvin Gregg, Asher Keddie, Grace Van Patten, Tiffany Boone and Manny Jacinto. Nine Perfect Strangers comes from David E. Kelley, Bruna Papandrea's Made Up Stories, Nicole Kidman's Blossom Films, and Endeavor Content. Kelley and Kidman previously worked together on HBO's Emmy-winning Big Little Lies as well as HBO's The Undoing. Jonathan Levine directs all eight episodes of the series and serves as executive producer alongside Papandrea, Steve Hutensky and Jodi Matterson for Made Up Stories, Kidman and Per Saari for Blossom Films, Moriarty, showrunner Kelley, John Henry Butterworth, Molly Allen, Samantha Strauss and McCarthy. The series is co-written by Kelley, John Butterworth and Strauss. The first three episodes of Nine Perfect Strangers start streaming on Hulu on August 18.
