He also served on the Boston Common Council, as a Representative in the MA State Legislature, as Alderman and served on the Boston City Council. He ran in 32 election campaigns throughout his political career beginning in 1897. Box 3A, Worcester, MA 01610-2395 Scope and Content Note: The collection consists of personal and political papers of James M. Curley. It includes correspondence, photographs, news clippings, drafts of his book, I’d do it again, political records and petitions. The large collection of scrapbooks, 1913 – 1938, documents Curley’s political career through news clippings. Most of the correspondence consists of petitions and notes written on behalf of Curley in 1947, and correspondence regarding his book, I’d do it again, addressed to Curley and his editor, Samuel Nesson, in 1957. The photographs document his political and personal life. There are also political cartoons, certificates, audio- visual material and a small amount of memorabilia.
