Carlos Roldán López Madrid, Julio de 2015 INFORME DEL DIRECTOR DE LA TESIS. TITULO DE LA TESIS: FILOSOFIA Y ESTETICA DEL CUERPO EN EL CIRCO DESDE LA PERSPECTIVA DEL CONCEPTO DE BIOPODER. La tesis doctoral de D. Jorge Gallego Silva contextualiza adecuadamente el complejo pensamiento de Michel Foucault para desde esta contextualización responder a la vocación fundamental de toda su obra: Ser utilizado como una caja de herramientas. Michel Foucault analizó pormenorizadamente los dispositivos de subjetivación que nos llevaron a ser lo que somos. Con una especial incidencia en los procesos de normalización corporal sobre el conjunto de las poblaciones. La Tesis que aquí se presenta viene a desarrollar la premisa Foucaltiana de la existencia de los llamados espacios heterotópicos, siendo el circo uno de ellos, sin que el pensador francés desarrollará la razón de ello. De una forma coherente y sistematizada, rigurosamente adepta al legado genealógico de Michel Foucault, que es necesario conocer para entender no sólo que se investiga, sino sobre todo como se investiga, la tesis aquí presentada presenta el circo como espacio heterotópico a través de un estudio casuístico de los dispositivos de subjetivación o técnicas del cuidado de sí que los trabajadores circenses aplican sobre sus propios cuerpos. La tesis doctoral que aquí se presenta cumple, a mi juicio, con todos los requisitos de fondo y forma para proceder a su lectura y defensa como el procedimiento otorga. -
