The objective of the upgrade was to achieve greater flexibility and a higher tonnage output per billet. Included within the mechanical scope of supply were two roughing mill RCS stands, by-pass roller tables, pinch rolls, toggle shear and looper.

ArcelorMittal Acindar Russula supplied the complete control system software for the new bar mill, which has a capacity of 450,000 tpy, to ArcelorMittal Acindar in Villa Constitución, Argentina. The control scope included combustion and material handling for the 80 tph reheat furnace, mill control for an 18 stand in line mill including high speed flying shears and rotating channels, cooling bed and cold shear, bundling area, fluid systems and water treatment plant.

Gerdau Sayreville Russula has redesigned Gerdau Sayreville’s water treatment facility. In the redesign, the plant reused sections of the existing equipment configuration to treat process water coming from the contact cooling circuit of the 800,000 tpy mill. Apart from improving the water quality, the modernization provided greater operating flexibil- ity, reduced maintenance costs and fully-automated operations, which significantly reduced energy costs and chemical additives.

Severstal Russula enabled Severstal, located in Balacovo the Saratov Region of Russia, to run a state of the art water treatment facility that operates in extreme weather condi- tions. The water facility treats 9675 m3/hr (42,598 gpm) of water critical to the steel production process providing Severstal’s 1 MT new generation steel plant with clean, cooled process water.

AHMSA Russula supplied a turn-key water for AHMSA’s 1 MT Steckel plate mill located in Monclova, Mexico. The new water treatment plant has a capacity of 7,400 m3/hr (32,657 gpm) contact water and 4,600 m3/hr (20,300 gpm) non-contact water circuits. The entire water treatment plant was constructed in 1 year from breaking ground to final installation.
