DAYTONA 500 Led by veteran play-by-play announcer Mike Joy, broadcasting his 40th DAYTONA 500 for live television or radio, the FOX NASCAR on-air team brings a collective 200 years of experience covering the “Great American Race.” Joining Joy in the FOX NASCAR booth is the Hall of Fame duo of three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Darrell Waltrip, broadcasting his 16th DAYTONA 500, and four-time champion and 2019 Hall of Fame inductee Jeff Gordon, covering his fourth in the FOX Sports booth. Gordon is a three-time DAYTONA 500 champion, and Waltrip won the 1989 running. Longtime race analyst and two-time DAYTONA 500-winning crew chief Larry McReynolds, back with FOX for his 16th Daytona Speedweeks as a broadcaster, continues to partner with Joy, Waltrip and Gordon, delivering unmatched insight from the brand-new state-of-the-art, multi- purpose virtual studio set housed in the FOX Sports studios in Charlotte. FOX Sports’ pit road reporting team of Matt Yocum (19th DAYTONA 500), Jamie Little (fifth), Vince Welch (fifth) and Regan Smith (second) are poised to deliver behind-the-scenes stories from pit road, as well as up-to-the-minute updates as the race unfolds.     NASCAR/Daytona 500 Advertising Advisory The Daytona 500 is held every February at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona, Florida. Many advertisers, especially bars and restaurants, will want to advertise Daytona 500 related promotions in the days and weeks leading up to the race. Even though the advertising blitz maybe heavy, it’s important to remember the law regarding the use of NASCAR/Daytona 500 trademarks. NASCAR and the Daytona 500 International Speedway control all marketing and proprietary rights with respect to the race. Both NASCAR and the Daytona 500 use their trademarks in order to generate revenue and both reserve the use of trademarked material to official sponsors and licensees who have invested large amounts of money to acquire the specific rights to these marks. NASCAR and the Daytona 500 International Speedway retain the exclusive right to control marketing of the race and all of its associated trademarks. These trademarks include the phrases “Daytona 500,” “The Great American Race, and the name of the racetrack itself, “The Daytona 500 International Speedway,” as well as all other associated graphics and logos. Additionally, the term “NASCAR” is a registered trademark of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, Inc. The Land O’ Lakes, Florida, native’s passion for motorsports began when he started racing at age 5. As a kid, Scott raced anything he could, from three-wheelers to motorcycles to go-karts. As his racing career progressed at paved short tracks across Florida, Scott competed in a variety of racecars including, Mini Stocks, Street Stocks, open-wheel Modifieds and Late Models. After completing two years in the mechanical engineering program at the University of South Florida, Scott moved to North Carolina in 1998 and enrolled in the Bobby Isaac Motorsports Technology Program at Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory. While he furthered his education, Scott transitioned from racing to working on the racecars of others. In 2003, Scott went to work for a NASCAR Truck Series team where he changed tires as a member of the pit crew in addition to serving as a mechanic.
