The AKC Naonal Owner-Handled Series is a non-tling compeon for dogs that are exhibited by their owners that are not professional handlers. All dogs that are owner-handled and are not exhibited in the Naonal Owner-Handled Series by professional handlers* meet the requirements for this compeon. Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner-Handled eligible at the me of entry using the check box on the entry form. Eligible dogs will be idenfied by an asterisk in the steward’s book & the catalog. Dogs must be handled throughout the breed level compeon for the regular show by an eligible owner. Professional handlers, household members and current assistants** to professional handlers may not exhibit the dog in any AKC Naonal Owner-Handled Series compeon during the enre show. Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs that are compeng in the Best of Breed compeon including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the non-regular classes. The breed will not be represented in the Owner-Handled Group if there is no eligible dog compeng in the Best of Breed, or Best of Winners compeon. *Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs to or has belonged to a professional handlers’ organizaƟon, distributed rate cards, or otherwise adverƟsed or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. **A current assistant is defined by anyone employed by a professional handler on a full -Ɵme basis, or assisƟng a professional handler at the show or any during the cluster/ weekend. April 24 & 25, 2021 5 4-6 Month Beginner Puppy Saturday, April 24, 2021 One combined class will be offered for puppies in each breed that are (4) four months & under (6) six months. There will be a selection of Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy. An AKC registration number or AKC litter number will be required for entries in this competition. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin. Dogs are required to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian's pro- tocol in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/to puppies not yet fully immunized. AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise. Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for the judges. Breed standard dis- qualifications such as color, height, weight or dentition shall not be a point of consideration in the judging process for this Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in Show Competition.
