Fury FC played 14 games inside the opening 65 days of the season – a match every four-and-a-half days. In fact, since the month of May began with Ottawa hosting Edmonton, Paul Dalglish’s squad has played nine games in 32 days, not to mention the travel in between. With the grueling schedule behind them, Fury FC players are finally going to be able to rest their bodies and solely focus on climbing up the USL Standings. Ottawa has suffered only two losses in its last twelve fixtures, in all competition (6W-4D-2L) and the club is on a two- game winning streak at home, most recently defeating the Richmond Kickers 5-3 with a historic come-from-behind performance. Harrisburg will have to keep a close eye on Ryan Williams as the British midfielder has been on fire lately picking up two goals and two assists in his last five games. Last Sunday against Bethlehem, Williams came on as a substitute and had an instant impact on the game, setting up Michael Salazar’s equalizer. After winning two of their first three matches to kick off the 2017 USL campaign, the Harrisburg City Islanders are winless since April 15th – they defeated Bethlehem Steel FC 3-2 on that date. Harrisburg is currently on a seven-game winless skid, but the club will most likely try to feed off its good performances in the U.S. Open Cup, as the City Islanders advanced to the 4th round of the competition last week, after a victory against Reading United A.C. Harrisburg will now face the MLS side Philadelphia Union in the 5th round. Despite playing in the U.S Open Cup on May 31st, Harrisburg will be the fresher side coming into Saturday’s game against Ottawa. The City Islanders enjoyed a bye week in the USL last week and will have had ten days off compared to six for Ottawa. Prior to their USL bye week, the City Islanders had lost their last game 3-1 against Bethlehem on May 28. WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: Fury FC GM and Head Coach, Paul Dalglish: “They play quite narrow and the have really good players. The results haven’t really matched what the performances have been and we’ll have to be at our best to beat them. Our depth has been stretched in the past few weeks and the mentality within this group is truly unbelievable. They’ve been fantastic and whoever has been asked to play has done well. We’re a very difficult team to play against at the moment and we will only get better with full weeks of training to prepare for games.” Fury FC Midfielder, Jonathan Barden: “They might not have won in a while in USL, but all teams in this league are capable of beating each other, so we’ll have to take them seriously just like any other opponent.
