Jolanda Neff und Nino Schurter starten in Solothurn Medienmitteilung vom 4. Mai 2017, Rickenbach – Die dritte Etappe des PROFFIX Swiss Bike Cups findet vom 6. – 7. Mai in Solothurn statt. Zum ersten Mal in diesem Jahr startet Jolanda Neff, die Weltnummer 1, an einer Etappe des PROFFIX Swiss Bike Cups. Auch Nino Schurter, die Weltnummer 1 bei den Männern und Gewinner der ersten PROFFIX Swiss Bike Cup Etappe, wird wieder am Start stehen. Zusammen mit dem Franzosen Julien Absalon, Weltnummer 2 und aktueller Leader des PROFFIX Swiss Bike Cups, Matthias Stirnemann und Florian Vogel sind insgesamt vier Top 10 Fahrer am Start. Bei den Frauen sind neben Jolanda Neff die PROFFIX Swiss Bike Cup Leaderin Sina Frei (UCI 19) und Linda Indergand (UCI 7) am Start. Indergand konnte die zweite Etappe des PROFFIX Swiss Bike Cups in Haiming für sich entscheiden. Der PROFFIX Swiss Bike Cup findet im Rahmen der Bike Days in Solothurn statt. Das Rahmenprogramm umfasst verschiedenste Contests in Disziplinen wie MTB-Dirtjump, BMX Flatland oder Mini Drom. Im Verlauf der 22-jährigen Karriere wurde der Cup von verschiedenen Grossfirmen als Titelsponsoren massgeblich mitfinanziert und entwickelte sich unter sich ändernden Namen ständig weiter: «Swisspower Cup», «Racer Bikes Cup» und «BMC Racing Cup». Inzwischen gehört der «Swiss Bike Cup» längst zu einer der wichtigsten Rennserien Europas und geniesst internationales Ansehen. Profisportler wie die beiden Überflieger Jolanda Neff, dreifache U-23 Cross-Country Weltmeisterin, und Nino Schurter, vierfacher Cross-Country Weltmeister und Olympiamedaillen Gewinner, sind mit dieser Rennserie aufgewachsen – wenn nicht gar daraus erwachsen. MOUNTAIN BIKE WORLD CUP UCI MOUNTAIN BIKE WORLD CUP INFORMATION FOR ORGANISERS 1. FOREWORD The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup is a season-long series of races that tests the skill, stamina and consistency of the world’s best specialists in mountain biking. Over a period of six months, the athletes confront each other time and time again in a bid to claim the leader’s jersey and, ultimately, the overall UCI World Cup title. Hosting a round of this extremely hard-fought competition leads to positive spin-offs both for the sport and the region. The local population has a chance to see mountain bike racing at the highest level, and the venue is showcased as a top mountain bike destination. Be it for Cross-country Olympic (XCO) Cross-country short track (XCC), and/or Downhill (DHI), the World Cup venue must live up to expectations of athletes, fans and sponsors alike. For the organisers, it is a major undertaking and a rewarding and satisfying experience. In order to encourage potential hosts and to simplify their candidature procedure, the UCI has published this Bidding Guide. The aim of this document is to provide National Federations and candidature committees of potential host cities with practical information for preparing their candidature. Questions that regularly crop up from potential hosts are answered in our concise guide, which provides advice for the different stages of the bid procedure. Issues covered include marketing rights, sponsors, budget, course requirements, team areas, and transport and accommodation requirements.
