Voted on by all 10 senior coaches, Pilmore polled seven votes to comprehensively take out the award, meaning he had the tough task of se- lecting the best side from 2012. Coaches also nominated players from their clubs who they felt had earned a spot in the side, with the Willunga coach having to choose from over 40 players. “All players nominated deserved to be in the side, but I could only pick 21 and it is picked on form over the whole season,” Pilmore said. “The team picked would be as good as anything going around in country football and it is a great concept by The Times to have the Team of the Year. “It would be fantastic to coach this team for real.” Pilmore’s full forward line would come as no surprise to fans with equal leading goal kickers Scott Welsh from Encounter Bay and Denis Il- jceson from Victor Harbor taking the mantle after both booting 68 goals in the minor rounds.
