Minutes/ Hadhramout Health Cluster Coordination Meeting- Mukalla, YEMEN Date: 25 March, 2021 Venue: Virtual meeting via Zoom Meeting Agenda Action Points 1 Welcome and introduction: Health Cluster focal point welcomed all partners to the regular virtual monthly Sub-National Health Cluster meeting, the action points of the last meeting were discussed and the meeting minute was endorsed. The meeting has addressed the following agenda items; • 1) Welcome & Introduction of Partners & Follow up on previous action points. • 2) Epidemiological update: (COVID-19) & Response / Gaps in Hadhramout Hub. • 3) GHOs updates related of COVID & Challenges. • 4) Partner’s Updates & Challenges. • 5) ABO - UNICEF health interventions in Mukalla hub. 2 COVID-19 update and response: - WHO presented a brief update on COVID-19 in Hadhramout hub between (Week1 to 11 \ 2021), total number of suspected cases in Hadhramout (Mukalla) are 446, while -Health cluster will share lists of needs GHO Al- 250confirmed cases by PCR, In Hadhramout Al-Wadi the total number of suspected cases Sahel of ICU drugs and other needs related to are 756, while the confirmed cases by PCR are 414, while 77 confirmed cases by PCR in COVID-19 control. Shabwah out of 179 suspected cases. - In Al-Mahra 87confirmed cases out of 157 suspected cases. In Socotra Zero case recorded. For more information, please visit the Health Cluster Website: http://yemenhc.org/ GHO Hadhramout Al-Sahel Dr. Mohammed Algomhi asked for urgent establish the COVID-19 treatment centers in Alshir as it will cover all the estren part of Hadhramout, and Doa’a COVID- treatment centers as it will cover a lot of districts which is very far form Mukalla, like Yabouth, ALdulia’a and others. Cluster and WHO guide GHO to the system and protocol that GHO supposed to submit a formal letter with clear justification to the MOPHP and then MOPHP will approve and subsequently will send to INGOs including WHO. DF update and response: Total number of suspected cases in Hadhramout (Mukalla) are 109, while 0 confirmed cases, In Hadhramout Al-Wadi the total number of suspected cases are 12, while the -Health Cluster will follow GHO AL-Sahel to submit the official letter to the MOPHP to establish the 2 confirmed cases are 6. new COVID treatment centers (Isolation centers). In Shabwah 369 suspected cases, while nothing confirmed cases. In Al-Mahra 5 suspected cases and only 0 confirmed case. In Socotra Zero case recorded. In response to DF, WHO: Conducted fogging spray campaign in Ateq, Behan, Meifah districts Conducted case management training for 35 HWs in Ateq District Conducted case management training for 25 doctors at Shabwah governorae Provided GHOs by RDT Provided CPHL at Mukalla and Sayoun by lab. Diphtheria update and response: Total number of suspected cases in Hadhramout (Mukalla) are 5, while 2 confirmed cases, In Hadhramout Al-Wadi the total number of suspected cases are 3, while the confirmed cases are 1. In Shabwah 6 suspected cases, while 2 confirmed cases. In Al-Mahra 1 suspected cases and only 0 confirmed case. In Socotra Zero case recorded. Response of Diphtheria: Provided GHOs by medicines Provided GHOs by DAT Conducted workshops training Supported TOT training by WHO at Hadramout hub Provided GHOs by guidelines UNICEF supported Diphtheria unit in Bashraheel hospital by incent payment and operation cost. 3 GHOs updates & Challenges GHO of Hadhramout Al-Wadi; shared a list of needs they critically need for isolation centers of CVOVID-19 as per attached. GHO AL-Sahel: Dr. Rulla Badhrees, Director of Epidemiological Surveillance explained the Epi situation of Hadhramout Al-Sahel related to COVID-19 and how increasing number of cases rapidly, cased a very clear GAPs between the needs and what’s available in the groups, the main recommentions and urgent needs for GHO Hadhramout Al-Sahel; Support the rapid response teams in the districts of Al-Mukalla city, Al-Shihr by increasing the number of teams working in the field according to the attached plan. Supporting the cost of transporting the patient’s samples from the governorate directorates to PRC unit in Mukalla according to attached plan. Training for support teams in all directorates on the protocol of Simple COVID-19 cases in homes and methods of managing and treatment for cases of Covid-19 and referral to isolation centers. Provision of essential drugs to treat cases by teams in the field. Providing personal protective equipment (PPE) for rapid response teams in all directorates. Supporting the establishment of Triage units in district hospitals. Providing oxygen cylinders with sufficient quantities in the triage units and COVID treatment centers. Providing more free medicines in COVID-19 treatment centers according to attached list of drug needs. Providing PPE in sufficient quantities in COVID-19 treatment centers. Providing Labor room in COVID-19 treatment center. -Health cluster will coordinate a meeting between UNFPA, UNICEF and GHO to discuss the possibility of establish a labor room for COVID-19 pregnant GHOs AL-Mahra: women. They attended the health sub cluster meeting and shared their main and urgent needs and asked to fill their gaps as per below; Shortage in Oxygen cylinders and filling process. They need to establish and open new COVID-19 treatment center in Al-Mahra due to far distance for many Al-Mahra districts and the only one COVID-19 treatment center in Al-Ghaydha. Shortage in doctors specialized in ICU. GHO Shabwah: They shared their needs to SNHC focal point asking for support, their main needs as per below; 1000 Oxygen cylinders. 150 Admission beds for COVID-19 treatment center. Medicine for COVID-19 as per protocol. 1500 Liters of Diesel for COVID-19 treatment centers. 30 Ventilators devices. Note; The needs are attached in an official letter for GHO Shabwah. 4 Partner’s Updates & Challenges: Al-Awn Foundation for development: Health Activates Report \ Doan district for March 2021; Type of intervention: Funding and operating Al-Hagrain chartable hospital. Antenatal care visits 123, postnatal care visits 5 Number of children under 1 received Penta3, 26 Number of referrals,2. All referral cases are assisted Number of consultations for new hypertensive patient,11 M and 19F, while consultations for diabetic patients,12M and 10F, and 2 males and 2 females were consulted as they had heart disease. Number of admissions (Hospitalization) were 9 women, and 1 man. Number of normal deliveries assisted were 6 while of C-section were 4. For surgeries, major Surgeries were 4 F and minor Surgeries were 16M and 21F.Beside continuous support of fuel and water, also the incentives of medical staff. Mobile clinic intervention in Hadhramout –Alwadi (Al-Abr district) As response to cluster call for urgent intervention due to the influx of IDPs from Marab to Al-aber district because of Mareb conflict, Al-awn foundation provided a mobile clinic team which provided services as per below; Total Number of outpatient consultations for host community 1544, while 245 from IDPs. Antenatal care visits 22, postnatal care visits 45. Number of consultations for new hypertensive patient,80 M and 32F, while consultations for diabetic patients,112M and 15F, and 10 males and 3 females were consulted as they had heart disease.
