New Street West Chester, PA 19382 USBands Pennsylvania State Championships Important Event Information USBands welcomes you to the 2018 USBands Pennsylvania State Championships. Thank you for joining USBands at John A. Farrell Stadium for this wonderful performance opportunity for your students! The following information is provided to make your participation as easy as possible. Please read it carefully so you know what to expect when you arrive at the event. We encourage you to check www.usbands.org often between now and the competition for the latest information. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at (610)-821-0345 and choose option 4 Band Tickets: Each band has been sent PRE-SALE tickets to sell at a discounted rate for this event, and assumes financial responsibility for each and every ticket. We hope you bring plenty of supporters to cheer on all of the performing students! When you arrive at the event, please be sure to return any unsold tickets at Registration along with payments for any required tickets. You will be responsible for full payment of any tickets not returned at Registration on the day of the event. There is no parking fee for this event. Check-in/Registration: Please check in with the USBands Representative at the check-in tent immediately upon arrival near the band parking area. In addition to handling invoices and tickets, you will also receive last-minute information related to the event. Check-in will be near the band exit gate. Restrooms: Restrooms are available inside the stadium. Please use the band exit gate to access the restrooms. Band Parking: Buses and Trucks will be parked in the lots south of the stadium at this event. See the map for the set-up. USBands and WCU Parking Staff will direct your vehicles upon arrival. No personal or staff cars are allowed in this lot. Warm-Up: Warm-up areas will be in the soccer complex across New St.. Ensembles should face away from the stadium while warming up. Gate Time: Your band needs to be at the BAND ENTRANCE GATE 10 minutes prior to your scheduled performance time. It is your responsibility to arrive at the gate at the appropriate time. It is approximately a 10-minute walk from the warm-up areas to the gate. If there are any significant changes in the event schedule, USBands representatives will contact you via cell phone with the latest information. Field Surface: Synthetic Turf with NCAA Hash Marks sewn in and High School Hash Marks TAPED. Awards Ceremony: Drum Majors and/or Band Representatives should assemble for the Awards presentation at the band entrance gate before the last band performs (see schedule). Critique: There will not be a critique at this event. Adjudicators will provide feedback about your band’s performance using CompetitionSuite. No written sheets will be used at this event. Please notify a USBands staff member if you will be unable to stay for awards. Audio/Video Recording: Due to copyright law, audio and video recording at this event is strictly prohibited. Souvenirs: Airgrams, Candygrams, Programs, band wearables by PepWear and other band related souvenirs will be available in the stadium during the event. Concessions: Concessions will be available in the stadium during the event. Tailgating: NO TAILGATING IS ALLOWED IN THE BAND PARKING AREA. Rain plan: In the event of inclement weather, all directors should report to the Band Registration Area to meet with the USBands Representatives to discuss delay, standstill performance or cancellation scenarios. Staff/Adult Access Into Stadium: You should have already received one USBands Director Badge and a specified number of USBands Staff badges for your instructors and adult chaperones/equipment handlers, etc. The number of passes assigned to you is based on the group size of the band (see Participant Guide). Entry to the Stadium Following the Performance: Your band members are invited into the stadium to view the remainder of the event, free of charge. Entrance for band members in uniform, or in a group if out of uniform, is through the BAND ENRANCE GATE. While in the stadium, the band members are to sit in groups, with appropriate supervision. Please remind your students to be respectful of other audience members, as well as the bands performing on the field. Please explain these guidelines to your staff, students and supporters prior to the event. We appreciate your cooperation! Follow Rt. 202 South for approximately 20 minutes. Take High Street exit to Rosedale Avenue and turn left, then proceed to South New Street and turn left. OR, take West Chester Pike (Rt. 3 West) to Rt. 202 South by-pass to High Street exit to Rosedale Avenue and turn left, then proceed to South New Street and turn left. From Western Pennsylvania (PA turnpike) Take Pennsylvania Turnpike to Exit 23 Downingtown/West Chester. Follow signs to for Rt. 100 South. Take Pottstown Pike exit and this will become High St. in the Borough of West Chester. Stay on High St. and turn right onto Rosedale Avenue then proceed to South New Street and turn left. From New Jersey Turnpike (North or South) Take Exit 6 for Pennsylvania Turnpike. Follow Pennsylvania turnpike west for approximately 35 miles and take Exit 24, Valley Forge. Go about ¼ mile to second exit, 26 to Rt. 202 South. Merge left twice on Rt. 202 South and continue for approximately 20 minutes and take High Street Exit. Take High Street to Rosedale Avenue and turn left. Then proceed to South New Street and turn left. From Commodore Barry Bridge (New Jersey) Coming from either north or south on Rt. 295, follow signs for 322 West. Cross Commodore Barry Bridge and continue on 322 West to Rt. 1. Turn left on Rt. 1 to Rt. 202 North. Turn right onto Rt. 202 North and go approximately 7 miles. At the Holiday Inn, proceed ahead under the overpass and continue north on High Street to Rosedale Avenue and turn left. Then proceed to South New Street and turn left. From Delaware, Maryland, Washington, and Delaware Memorial Bridge Take Rt. 95 North through Wilmington to the exit for Rt. 202 North (Concord Pike). Continue north on 202. At the Holiday Inn proceed ahead under the overpass and continue north on High Street to Rosedale Avenue and turn left. Then proceed to South New Street and turn left.
