The Buffalo History Museum has been Western New York's premier historical organization since 1862. The collections, exhibits, and programs tell the stories of the people, events, and movements that demonstrate Western New York's essential place in shaping American history. Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) designed a unique residential estate for wealthy Buffalo businessman Darwin D. Martin and his family between 1903-1905. The most substantial and highly developed of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie houses in the Eastern United States, The Martin House received National Historic Landmark status in 1986. The house is considered by leading Frank Lloyd Wright scholars as one of Wright’s finest achievements of the Prairie period and, indeed, of his entire career. Set high on a cliff with sweeping views over Lake Erie, Graycliff stands as an architectural jewel awaiting your discovery. Built between 1926 and 1931, Graycliff was designed by the renowned American architect Frank Lloyd Wright for Isabelle R. Martin and her husband, Larkin Company executive Darwin D. Martin. Graycliff served as the Martin summer home from 1927 to the mid-1940s. Most Western New Yorkers are passionate about where they come from. That spirit and sense of place is evident in the loyal, dedicated fanbase of Buffalo’s sports teams – the NFL’s Bills, NHL’s Sabres, NLL’s Bandits, Beauts women’s pro hockey, the Queen City Roller Girls and AAA baseball Bisons. Whether it’s an all-day tailgating and football bonanza at New Era Field, cheering for the coolest team on ice or a sunny afternoon at Sahlen Field, Buffalonians go big or go home; they love to make the most out of life. Miles of Waterfront Summer Bucket List Family Friendly Fall! Winter Wonderland! One of the seven wonders of the world, Niagara Falls State Park has awe-inspiring scenery! It also features thrilling attractions, interactive exhibits, miles of hiking trails, and delectable dining options in a family-friendly environment. It's an adventure-packed experience! Niagara Falls, USA The Eternal Flame Falls is a small waterfall located in the Shale Creek Preserve, a section of Chestnut Ridge Park in Western New York. A small grotto at the waterfall's base emits natural gas, which can be lit to produce a small flame. Letchworth State Park, renowned as the "Grand Canyon of the East," is one of the most scenically magnificent areas in the eastern U.S. The Genesee River roars through the gorge over three major waterfalls between cliffs and surrounded by lush forests. Trails are available for hiking, horseback riding, biking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. Letchworth offers whitewater rafting, kayaking, a pool for swimming and hot air ballooning.
