WEEK ENDING 9/24/16 oFFENSIVE PLAYER of the Week JOHN DISTEFANO • Montclair State University Senior • Running Back • Lincroft, NJ/Red Bank Catholic DiStefano earns NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after leading the Red Hawks to a 21-14 NJAC win over previously unbeaten Rowan. In MSU’s home opener, he rushed for 129 yards on 35 carries with two touchdowns, including the game-winning 9-yard score with just 0:49 remaining in the fourth quarter. He also garnered two receptions in a contest which represented his third consecutive 100-yard rushing game this year. DiStefano currently leads the NJAC in rushing (138.0 yards per game). defensive PLAYER of the Week darin hungerford • Junior • Linebacker • Dumfries, VA/Forest Park Hungerford earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after helping Kean record its third consecutive victory, a 24-13 NJAC road win at William Paterson. He led the Cougar defense on the day by recording 11 tackles, including three solo stops. He also garnered 3.5 tackles for a loss, including 1.5 sacks. His 3.5 tackles for a loss mark the most by an NJAC player in a game this season. Hungerford currently leads the NJAC in total tackles for a loss (9.5). special teams PLAYER of the Week vaughn scott • Kean University Junior • Kick/Punt Returner • West Deptford, NJ/Paulsboro

Scott becomes the second different Cougar to earn NJAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors after helping Kean improve to 2-1 in conference with a 24-13 NJAC road win at William Paterson. He contributed as both a kick returner and a punt returner, finishing the contest by averaging 12.8 yards per punt return on four attempts, including a 47-yard return which set up Kean’s third touch- down. He also contributed on defense with a 28-yard interception return for a touchdown. Scott currently ranks fifth in the NJAC in kickoff return average (19.9).

OFFENSIVE ROOKIE of the Week ryan adzima • Montclair State University Freshman • Quarterback • Wallington, NJ/DePaul Catholic Adzima earns NJAC Offensive Rookie of the Week honors for the third consecutive week after leading the Red Hawks to a 21-14 come-from-behind NJAC win over rival Rowan. In his first career game played at Sprague Field, he completed 10-of-21 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown. Trailing late in the game, he completed a 73-yard strike early in the fourth quarter before engineer- ing a 57-yard drive with 1:18 left for the game-winning score. Adzima currently ranks fourth in the NJAC in passing yards (178.3 per game).

DEFENSIVE ROOKIE of the Week andre boone • Salisbury University Freshman • Defensive Back • Largo, MD/Flowers

Boone earns NJAC Defensive Rookie of the Week honors after helping the No. 15 ranked Sea Gulls remain unbeaten with a 35-0 NJAC road win at Southern Virginia. In a defensive performance in which Salisbury held SVU to just 178 total yards and no passing yardage, he notched eight tackles, including four solo stops. He also recorded the second tackle for a loss of his career to propel Salisbury to 3-0 overall and a 2-0 in conference. Boone currently ranks tied for 25th in the NJAC in tackles (6.0 per game).
