Timber Bay is located on the east side of Montreal Lake and was once on the main Athabasca highway leading north from Prince Albert. Now, the main highway is on the western side of the lake. Consequently, the hamlet is Boreal accessible by a gravel road but is only 20 West minutes drive away from the community of Montreal Lake. The city of Prince Albert is only an hour and a half’s drive away and Churchill residents are able to drive to the city to do 1 River their shopping.
