PIH Health Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the sole mission to raise funds through philanthropy to benefit PIH Health and its affiliates. Every dollar raised is reinvested into the communities PIH Health serves through quality healthcare and health-based programs and services.

Community Benefit

Investment in community benefit programs and services is an integral part of PIH Health’s charitable mission. The organization is a proud partner in the communities’ health and wellness. During the 2013-2014 fiscal year, the community benefit investment for PIH Health Hospital - Whittier totaled $46 million, or 9.3% of organization expenses. PIH Health dedicates assets to charitable purposes, including financial assistance programs, as well as community-based initiatives to improve and promote overall health and well-being.

Community Partnerships

Activate Whittier – A community collaborative that champions a healthy, active Whittier. The program is a partnership between PIH Health, City of Whittier, YMCA of Greater Whittier, Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Boys & Girls Club of Whittier, Whittier City School District, Whittier Union High School District, , Uptown Wellness Center, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Think Together and LEARN.

Healthy Los Nietos – A community collaborative that champions a Healthy Los Nietos community (an incorporated area of Los Angeles County), developed in response to rising rates of childhood obesity. The program is a partnership between PIH Health’s Family Medicine Residency Program and Community Health Education departments, the Los Nietos School District, City of Santa Fe Springs, as well as local residents and community-based organizations.
