Eastern Kentucky posted four 30+ win seasons in the early 1980s. • Eastern Kentucky twice advanced to the NCAA Champion- ships, fi rst in 1984 and then more recently in 2004. In 1990, the Colonels appeared in the National Invitational Championship. • The Colonels have received 58 All-Conference recognitions throughout their history while 26 players have been named to the All-Tournament team. Senior Britt any Nobilio earned three OVC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2004, 2005 and 2007. • Current head coach Lori Duncan was a member of three consecutive conference championship teams (1981- 83). In 2004, she was named the OVC Coach of the Year after leading the Colonels to both the regular season and tournament titles. • The Colonels have captured seven regular season Ohio Valley Conference titles and a league-best nine conference championships. In 2005, Eastern Kentucky played for a live television audience as the fi nals of the OVC Championships were broadcast on ESPNU. • In 2007, Britt any Nobilio became the Ohio Valley Confer- ence career digs leader and broke the NCAA record for career digs per game average. In 2006, Kelly Jennings became the OVC career assist leader. In addition, Charlott e Gillespie ’84 holds the conference re- cord for career service aces and Amy Merron ’97 set a league mark for career block assists. • Former Eastern Kentucky head coach Geri Polvino spent 32 years with the Colo- nels while leading the program to a 627- 439 record.     STATE SOLO & ENSEMBLE INFORMATION - VOCAL & PIANO EVENTS PERRY MERIDIAN HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL All times are E.S.T. (Indianapolis time) All Vocal Events will be held at Perry Meridian High School, 401 W. Meridian School Road. All Piano Events will be held at Perry Meridian Middle School, 202 W. Meridian School Road, on the north side of the street. MAPS & SCHEDULES: Directors: Give your students a copy of the building map along with the schedule! NOTE: Vocal Warm-up rooms and Performance rooms will be located on both the First and Second floors. A Teacher Workroom will be available to directors at PMHS in room 11M (located across from the cafeteria). PARKING: Parking for this event is very limited. Please make arrangements to carpool or travel in vans and minibuses to limit the number of vehicles at the site.     Self-Guided Walking Tour This walking tour of campus should take you approximately one to two hours, depending on your walking speed. If you are doing this tour during regular office hours (Monday through Friday, 8 am–4:30 pm); you may enter most buildings with little difficulty. However, if you are visiting campus during the weekend or evening hours some buildings may be locked. The starting point for the tour is the Curris Center and is open seven days a week, except during holiday breaks when the university is closed. This would be a good place to take a restroom break before the tour! To help guide you along the tour you will find a campus map on the back page of this booklet. The number before the name of each building corresponds to the building numbers on the campus map. Let’s Get Started! 22 Curris Center (beginning of the tour) o Built in 1981. o The building is named after Dr. Constantine Curris, who was the president of the university at the time the Curris Center was built. o The building was built in five separate sections so that it could withstand a magnitude 5 earthquake and took 3 years to complete. o A student, David Mitchell, created the wooden benches and statues located on each floor. He made them by putting layers of plywood together with Elmer’s Glue, and then he cut out the designs with a chainsaw.
