University Ranked 5th Among India’s Top 100 Universities

Close on the heels of the Visitor’s Best University Award 2016, Tezpur University has achieved another feat by having been ranked 5th among the universities in an assessment of higher education institutions in India conducted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, through the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). The list of top 100 universities along with those in three other categories was released by the Hon’ble Union HRD Minister Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani in New Delhi on April 4, 2016 in presence of a host of dignitaries.

The ranking was made based on the performance of the universities in five broad areas, viz., Teaching Learning and Resources; Research, Professional Practice and Collaborative Performance; Graduation Outcome; Outreach and Inclusivity; and Perception. Reacting to the achievement, Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Mihir K. Chaudhuri attributed the success to the students, faculty and non-teaching staff of the University whose support, hard work and perseverance have made it possible to bring these laurels.
