Spice, chocolate and black fruit dominate with some wood spice. Smooth tannins and long, clean aftertaste. Gentle oak treatment ensure fruit forward wine with enough legs to mature a good 5 years. Ernie Els Cabernet Sauvignon – Stellenbosch R420.00 Deep dark black currant with a mineral tone and some bold chalky tannins. This full, intensely flavoured wine with its lingering aftertaste shows excellent balance. Klein Constantia – Constantia R290.00 This Sauvignon Blanc has notes of dried peaches and pears with some herbaceous notes and a crispy finish. Black Oystercatcher – Elim R315.00 A well balanced cool climate wine with a forthcoming nose of gooseberry, capsicum and tropical notes.
