I. Introduction Legal pragmatism is a visible movement in law academia today. The group advocating this stance is composed of a wide-ranging and diverse set of individuals. The list includes Daniel Farber,1 Thomas Grey,2 Margaret Radin3 and Judge Richard Posner4 among many others. Advocates of this stance insist that adoption a pragmatic conception of law practice can help law as a social tool function more effectively. More specifically legal pragmatism is advocated as a judicial stance. A glance at the group listed as legal pragmatists raises the question of whether there is a cohesive center to such a stance. If right-wing judges and leftist-feminists can advocate the same stance something is definitely suspicious. One suspects that there might not be any guts to a stance that can claim adherents from such otherwise radically opposed camps. -

A Traditionalist's Response to the Falāsifa
The Virtuous Son of the Rational: A Traditionalist’s Response to the Falsifa (Conference Paper for Ancient and Medieval Philosophy, Fordham University, Oct. 14–16, 2005) Nahyan Fancy University of Notre Dame Dimitri Gutas has recently made a strong case for considering the three centuries after Ibn Sn (d. 1037, lat. Avicenna) as the “Golden Age of Arabic Philosophy.”1 He argues that the “originality and depth of philosophical thought” and the “diffusion of philosophical work and influence on society in general” during this period far surpassed that of earlier and later periods.2 He traces the deep penetration of falsafa3 into Islamic intellectual life to the towering figure of Ibn Sn himself, who, by engaging with the religious and theological concerns and discussions of his day, made falsafa relevant for all subsequent discussions on philosophical and theological topics.4 Recent work by Robert Wisnovsky and Ayman Shihadeh has substantiated Gutas’s claim by further illuminating how much Ibn Sn was influenced by and, in turn, influenced subsequent theological discussions in kalm5 and other religious circles.6 What is abundantly clear from these studies is that thirteenth century philosophical and theological discussions had to contend with Ibn Sn’s sophisticated philosophical system, for it rationally defended and interpreted religious doctrines and 1 Dimitri Gutas, “The Heritage of Avicenna: The Golden Age of Arabic Philosophy, 1000–ca. 1350,” in Avicenna and His Heritage: Acts of the International Colloquium, Leuven-Louvain-La-Neuve, September 8–September 11, 1999, ed. In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful Some Prophetic Ahadeeth about the Noble Quran: Dear believing brothers, there is a group of Prophetic Ahadeeth about the Noble Quran. "He who recites the Noble Quran will never be sad": The Prophet PBUH said: (He who recites the Noble Quran will never be sad.) The Prophet PBUH assured us that the one who recites the Quran will never be sad, because he knows that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah Alone. 1 He Who Recites The Noble Quran will Never be Sad. s2. White Blood Cells. Indeed, the slaves (of Allah) have never learnt anything better than Tawheed, and when man believes in Allah, he will never be sad. So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive ﴾ ﴿.punishment [Ash-Shu'ara', 213] (Offer your deeds seeking the Countenance of Allah, so that Allah will help you accomplish your missions (in this life and in the Hereafter).) [Ibn Adi and Ad-Dulaimi, on the authority of Anas] (Whoever focuses all his concerns on one issue, namely the Hereafter, Allah will suffice him and spare him the worries of this world.) [Ibn Majah, on the authority Abdullah Ibn Mas'ood] (He who recites the Noble Quran will never be sad.) This is because he worships only Allah, Al-Wahid (The One) and Ad-Dayyan (The Judge). (He who recites the Noble Quran will never be sad.) This is because he believes beyond doubt that the gates of repentance are wide open. -

In the study, which is a qualitative research method patterned on phenomenology, data was collected using a semi-structured interview form. Structured interviews were conducted with seven research assistants selected from a faculty of education at a state university in Ankara using the criterion sampling method. According to the research results, research assistants were determined to prefer taking faculty members as their role models in building their professional identity. They see this process as an opportunity to specialize in their field and improve themselves, feel that working at a pioneering university with prestige in its field increases their responsibilities, and are more enthusiastic about improving themselves in that direction. In relation to deficiencies in the process of building their professional identity, the participants stated that they have limited opportunities regarding practice and feel uncomfortable conducting research unrelated to their practice. The research results were discussed in the context of related literature, as well as the administrative and functional structure of the higher education system. E-mail:[email protected] ABSTRACT Civilization is widespread of quality civic idea, supported by full development of arts, maintained with enthusiasm to pursuit the knowledge in which many ethnicities and religions may participate. It begins from the time of the settlement of the first man on this earth. Almost every nation has contributed to the history of civilization, although the contribution may vary from one nation to another. What may distinguish one civilization from one another is the strength of the foundation on which these civilizations have been founded and the impact these civilizations have made to humanity as a whole. Based on this fact, Islamic Civilization which may be synonymous to tawhidic civilization is based on a unity of God which stands completely against any racial or ethnic discrimination. Such major racial and ethnic groups as the Arabs, Persians, Turks, Africans, Indians, Chinese and Malays in addition to numerous smaller units embraced Islam and contributed to the building of Islamic civilization. Moreover, Islam was not opposed to learning from the earlier civilizations and incorporating their science, learning, and culture into its own world view, as long as they did not oppose the principles of Islam. Indeed, historically speaking, during the period when Western civilization was experiencing the dark ages, between 700-1200 A.D, Islamic empire stretched from Central Asia to southern Europe. -

The Notion of “Light” Interpreted in “The Niche of the Lights” of Al-Ghazali Authors: Saïd Khanabadi,1 Dr. Mahdi Dehghani Firouzabadi2 Reccive: 02/12/2020 Accept: 01/03/2021 Abstract Since the revelation of the Holy Qur'an to the Prophet Mohammad, Muslim thinkers have been interested in the interpretation of the 35th verse of the Surah “Light”. From Fārābi, Avicenna and Sohrawardi to contemporary Islamic scholars, the structure, content and symbolism of this verse, reputed by the title of the verse of the Light, have been studied and commented on several methods. Imam Abu Hamed Mohammad Al-Ghazali (1058-1111), the Great Iranian Master of jurisprudence, theology, ethics, philosophy, logic and gnostic has written a very concise essay on this subject, in order to answer the question of a disciple who asks him to interpret this qur'anic verse. This book, written in Arabic, is called “Mishkat-al-Anwar”, which means “The Niche of the lights”. In this article, we will faithfully follow the approach taken by Al-Ghazali, this famous Muslim thinker, who was born in Iranian region of Khorasan at the time of the Seljukide dynasty, to explain the qur'anic notion of the Light.
