[email protected] CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAY SEASON ON THE KIMMEL CENTER CULTURAL CAMPUS WITH SOULFUL SOUNDS AND RETURNING FAMILY FAVORITES FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, November 16, 2017) –– The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts is celebrating the holiday season with a spectacular lineup of shows and activities across its Cultural Campus. “Every year, we welcome back performances from our esteemed resident companies – favorites like the Pennsylvania Ballet’s George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, The Philly POPS’ Christmas Spectacular, and The Philadelphia Orchestra’s The Glorious Sound of Christmas – as well as celebratory events of our own like A Soulful Christmas,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “The holidays are about spreading cheer and building memories with the ones you love, so give the gift of old and new experiences this year, and bring the whole family together on our Cultural Campus.” Programming kicks off in mid-November with groundbreaking electronic violinist Lindsey Stirling and her Warmer in the Winter Christmas tour. Three-time Grammy Award winner Brian Setzer brings his 19- piece band to perform seasonal hits like “Boogie Woogie Christmas,” “Dig That Crazy Christmas,” and “Rockin’ Rudolph” in The Brian Setzer Orchestra’s 14th Annual Christmas Rocks! Tour. Annual Kimmel Center traditions return with A Soulful Christmas, an evening of gospel and inspirational messages honoring American gospel singer Lady Tramaine Hawkins, and Tuba Christmas, two FREE performances with over 100 regional tuba, sousaphone, and euphonium players blasting out holiday favorites.
