Degree programme in the current year, the total number of seats allocated for each branch will be displayed at the counselling centre to help the candidates make their choice. . Candidates will be allotted the branch and the campus they prefer based on the . availability. Candidate’s presence at the time of counselling is mandatory, no one else would be allowed to . participate in counselling on behalf of the candidate. However, due to unforeseen reasons, if a candidate is unable to attend counselling on the specified date and time, he / she can attend on a subsequent date / time, after duly intimating the office. The candidate can only opt for the branch available at that time and cannot claim any other branch . as per his / her original turn or seniority. Under genuine reason, if a candidate is not able to attend the counseling, he/she can authorize either his/her father or mother to attend the counseling on his/her behalf with proper proof (viz., e‐

. The Registration will begin at 7.30 am and over by 9.00 am. The counselling will begin, immediately after the registration . . . Candidates reporting after 9.00 a.m. would be allowed to register in the next session only. . If a candidate reports after 2.30 p.m., he / she would be allowed to participate only on the next day of counselling. . The Counselling process may extend upto late evening, students / parents are requested to plan their travel accordingly. . Parents should accompany their ward at the time of counselling.

Verification of documents pertaining to age, mark sheet of the qualifying examination, community, nativity (if applicable) and other eligibility criteria will be first done before the candidate is allowed to participate in the counselling. . No change of date / time of counselling is permissible. If a candidate fails to appear for counselling on the date and time specified, his / her seat will be offered to the next candidate in the order of merit. . After counselling for a particular day is over, the number of seats (branch wise) still available for allotment on the next day of counselling, will be published in our website and also be displayed on the notice board of the university for the benefit of candidates. If the marks statement of the qualifying exam has not been received before the date of counselling, . A candidate should decide for certain, on whether he / she should join the programme based on the branch allotted to him / her at the time of counseling, before the payment of the . fee. . Allotment of branch and campus once made is final and cannot be changed under any circumstances. More than the required numbers of candidates have been invited for the VITEEE‐2014

The fact that candidate has qualified in the VITEEE‐2014 and has been called for counselling does not guarantee admission to him / her. This will depend on the candidate’s All India Rank in the entrance examination and upon the availability of a seat in the campus of their choice, when their turn comes.

Candidates willing to pay the balance fee on the same day of counselling, can do so with the required documents as specified in the information brochure.

LOCATION The VIT campus is located on a 300 acre site on the – Road. It is 2½ hours drive from Chennai (Formerly Madras) by Road and 4 hours from (considered the silicon valley of India). Both the cities are well connected by road, rail and air routes with all parts of the country and also have international airports. The airport nearest to Vellore is in Chennai. From the airport, you can go to the bus stand at Koyambedu or to the Central Railway Station to take a bus or train to Vellore. Train and bus services to Vellore are frequent, cheap and quite satisfactory. Either journey takes about 2½ hours. If you choose to travel by train, you should buy your ticket to Katpadi Railway Station which is just Chennai2km away will fr bringom VIT. you Busrighet sto from the centre of the town of Vellore from where you can reach VIT which is about 5 km from the bus stand.

TRANSPORTATION IN VELLORE Auto Rickshaws (on share basis) are easily available from both Railway station and bus stand to Chitoor bus stop. Government Buses will ply between Chittoor bus stop to VIT. It is 30 km away from Chennai International Airport and 42 km away from Chennai Central Junction. It is easily accessible by Metro Train and Deluxe Buses from both Chennai Airport and Central Railway Junction. The nearest Metro Station is Vandalur Zoo, which is 9 Km from the campus. The campus can be reached by MTC Bus Route No. 555, 556, 115 and Reaching from Chennai Airport: You can reach the campus within 30 minutes by taxi. From Airport one has to drive via , Chromepet, , and Vandalur Zoo on the National Highway ‐ NH45. From Vandalur Zoo one has to take a left turn on the road adjacent to Zoo leading to Kelambakkam [in less than 9 Kms]

By Train: If you arrive at Chennai Central Railway station, you can move to Park Town Station (Opposite to Central Station). From there you can reach Vandalur Zoo by Metro Trains bound for . During peak hours you will find trains bound for Tambaram every 5 minutes. You can get down at Tambaram Junction and reach the campus by bus.

By Bus: Vandalur Zoological Park is well connected by Deluxe and Luxury buses plying from major locations of Chennai. From Vandalur Zoo, one can reach either by auto or van.

Shuttle Service : VIT University bus shuttle service will be available from Vandalur Zoo to VIT University Chennai Campus, on all counseling days, from 7.00 am till 8.30 am.
