In December 1964, Winter Haven resident Bob Parsons opened a small place along the railroad tracks near downtown Winter Haven so his stepson’s band would have a place to play music. , the stepson, not only went on to find national musical success with and the Flying Burrito Brothers, but created a new genre of music, now known as country rock or alternative country.
