HENDERSON MAKES HISTORY NFCA All-Pacific Region (3) Former Golden Bear standout Jolene Henderson, who made history in 2013 by becoming Cal’s all-time Cheyenne Cordes (1st team) winningest pitcher, made history once again as the first player ever to sign with National Pro Fastpitch’s new expansion team, the Dallas Charge on Jan. 27. Henderson will join the Charge for its inaugural season Danielle Henderson (2nd team) beginning Summer 2015. Henderson led the Bears in the circle from 2010-13, recording a 130-35 record Kylie Reed (3rd team) and 1.63 career ERA. Vanessa Alvarez (HM) Danielle Henderson (HM) REEVES RETIRES The offseason brought a number of changes for the Golden Bears, but none as major as the retirement Jasmin Mejia (HM) of longtime pitching coach John Reeves. The bullpen staple joined the Bears in 1994 and served as Nisa Ontiveros (HM) pitching coach for 21 seasons. In his more than two decades on the Cal staff, Reeves helped the Bears to a 928-428 record (.684 winning percentage), including 10 trips to the Women’s College World Series, 20 postseason berths and two conference titles along with 123 All-Conference and 47 Pac-12 All-Academic laurels. Under his tutelage, Cal’s claimed three conference Pitcher of the Year honors and 13 All- America selections.
