Jon Elmore also joins his older brother, Ot, who is a freshman guard on the 2013-14 VMI basketball squad.

Keydets Take All-Military Classic Behind Big Three of Peterson, Glasgow and Covington: Freshman combo guard QJ Peterson had an impressive college basket- ball debut in the All-Military Classic hosted by VMI Nov. 8 and 9, and was named the tourney's MVP. Peterson scored 25 points and hit 9-of-18 shots in VMI's 82-71 win over The Citadel and folowed with a 19-point perform- ance in the 71-63 championship game against Air Force. Senior guard Rodney Glasgow joined Peterson on the All-Military Classic All-Tourney team, while D.J. Covington averaged 15 points per game, including 20 in the title game when he, Peterson and Glasgow com- bined for 55 of VMI’s 71 points.

Historic Regular Season Tournament Win: VMI's All-Military Classic title was the pro- gram's first regular season tourney trophy since the 1978 Siena College Tournament in Loudonville, N.Y. (January 3-4, 1978). This year’s AMC is also believed to have been the first regular season bas- ketball tournament ever hosted on the VMI Post.

Weethee Delivers Explosive Return: Redshirt sophomore forward Jordan Weethee, sidelined by a knee injury the entire 2012-13 sea- son, returned to action with flair as he threw down a dramatic first half dunk that was tagged as ESPN SportsCenter's top play of the day. It marked the second time in three years a Keydet basketball play- er had attained the accolade as Stan Okoye's dunk against Ohio State snagged the top spot November 23, 2011.

First Win Over Service Academy Since...: VMI’s win over Air Force on Nov. 9 to win the All-Military Classic marked VMI’s first win over a service academy since the season opener for the 2009-10 season, when the Keydets beat Army 93- 86 at Cameron Hall.

Last Year In The BSC: 2013-14 will be VMI’s final year in the Big South after 11 years in the league and will move back to the Southern Conference for the 2014-15 season.
