Ambassador Kamal stated that he would assist in forwarding the concept note to the relevant ministries in Pakistan as well as potential academic and private sector companies who could be interested to work closely with AIT under the triple-helix partnership. She also discussed the role of alumni as the base of the fundraising pyramid and the importance of having a solid base and from their working up to cultivate the big donors be it foundations, corporate, and individuals. The same afternoon, the AIT delegation met with Ms Chua Beng Hwee, Deputy Director and Ms Irene See Meng Hong, Associate Director Office of Alumni Relations, National University of Singapore (NUS). The alumni office basically maintains relationships with the alumni, has social gatherings, arranges special events, reunions etc, but they do not do the fundraising which is done by NUS development office. The alumni house which was constructed by a huge donation received from the Shaw Foundation provides excellent venue for alumni returning to NUS to be greeted, and they can make use of its many facilities free of charge. The main objective of the Shaw Foundation Alumni House, according to Ms Chua, is to nurture a strong sense of identity and pride-of-belonging among alumni, and under its roof NUS alumni and friends will have a singular meeting point, where they can strengthen social or professional ties, and participate in alumni activities that help them remain connected to their alma mater. 3 17th Meeting with Mr. Kee Book Hee Mr. Kee informed that he will donate USD 100,000 for top ranked UMP students VPRD office.

The AITAA Mother Chapter President after the presentation mentioned that he and his Executive Committee members would fully support this campaign and send information to all the AITAA Chapter Presidents to encourage them to support this campaign and also inform the respective alumni members as well. Mr. Chaovalit also supported the idea of Prof Worsak and AIT Director Fundraising visiting all the AITAA National Chapters to personally meet and give presentations on the campaign and activities. Mr. Chaovalit will also try and accompany the AIT delegation during the visits to the National Chapters and as a show of solidarity and support towards this campaign. I would like to thank Prof Worsak and his team for their hard work and efforts and encourage our AIT family to wholeheartedly support this important campaign.
