Our PBC played an active part in this initiative and contributed to raising awareness by releasing an interesting set of six documentaries on a single DVD called “Man, Landscape, Forests...” as well as organizing a number of presentations and lectures. A project of extensive restoration of the Lednice chateau Riding Hall, under which an educational centre will be established on the premises, was launched in 2011. The main exhibition will focus on the Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape (LVCL), World Heritage Site, and two additional exhibitions will present the Lower Morava BR and the INTRODUCTION MAB Programme respectively. Our PBC participates in the project as a partner and as such prepared expert documents required in the process of selecting the exhibition contractor. An updated version of the LVCL Manage- ment Plan was also released in 2011. Later in the year, a fourth year of the traditional “Cultural Landscape Manage- ment” workshop took place.

Velké Němčice – 6. března 51. Výstava vín 2011 Motto: K lidskému štěstí a k úsměvné pohodě patří prostřený stůl, víno, přátelé a hudba. 1 Velké Němčice – 6. března 51. agronomy Article The Current Stage of Greening Vegetation in Selected Wine-Regions of South Moravian Region (Czech Republic) Lucia Ragasová 1,*, Tomáš Kopta 1 , Jan Winkler 2 and Robert Pokluda 1 1 Department of Vegetable Growing and Floriculture, Faculty of Horticulture, Mendel University in Brno, Brno 613 00, Czech Republic; [email protected] (T.K.); [email protected] (R.P.) 2 Department of Plant Biology, Faculty of AgriSciences, Mendel University in Brno, Brno 613 00, Czech Republic; [email protected] * Correspondence: [email protected]; Tel.: +421-948-088-644 Received: 24 July 2019; Accepted: 9 September 2019; Published: 12 September 2019 Abstract: Viticulture, as a large part of the agriculture sector of the South Moravian Region, represents significant erosion-prone land use in which soils face various agronomic issues, such as poor organic carbon levels, erosion, and fertility loss. Service crops providing a so-called ecosystem service can reduce erosion and runoff, regulate pests and weeds and increase soil organic matter and fertility. However, these crops may generate some disservices, such as water and nutrient competition; and thus, it is important for winegrowers to find applicable options for service crops depending on local soil, climate conditions, and the expected service. Inter-row management in the South Moravian Region varies from bare soils to grass cover to different types of cover with herbaceous (flowering) species. A total of 113 vineyard sites were evaluated during the years 2016 and 2017. This study presents the actual state of inter-row management in vineyards and comparison within six wine-growing regions.

The event could not have occurred without these hard working specialists who spent an unremunerated week working to benefit the Czech Republic and the town and zamek of Valtice. • The Present Distribution and Nest Tree Characteristics of Liometopum Microcephalum (PANZER, 1798) (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) in South Moravia
Myrmecological News 10 85-90 Vienna, September 2007 The present distribution and nest tree characteristics of Liometopum microcephalum (PANZER, 1798) (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) in South Moravia Jiří SCHLAGHAMERSKÝ & Markéta OMELKOVÁ Abstract In 2002 - 2004 the population of the dolichoderine ant Liometopum microcephalum (PANZER, 1798) in South Moravia (Czech Republic), at the northwestern boundary of the species' range, was surveyed in terms of distribution, popula- tion size (number of colonies) and habitat requirements. At present the northern-most colonies in South Moravia occur at the Křivé jezero National Nature Reserve on the Dyje river and in the Skařiny Nature Reserve on the Morava River. In total, 850 colonies were recorded and the characteristics of their nest trees analysed. About one half of the nest trees were found within forest stands and 94 percent of all nest trees were oaks. Most sites with colonies are located within the active or historic floodplains. Due to the river regulation between 1970 and 1989 (including the construction of re- servoirs on the Dyje) and due to present forest and park management this population has retreated to the south and is to be considered threatened despite its considerable size. Key words: Dolichoderinae, Liometopum microcephalum, distribution, nest tree characteristics, conservation, South Moravia, Czech Republic. Myrmecol.
