BMW Corporate Communications Media Information DTM 2nd July 2017 Second race, second BMW victory: Maxime Martin wins eventful Sunday race at the Norisring. • BMW’s 75th victory in the DTM since 1984. • Maxime Martin stands on the top step of the DTM podium for the third time. • Five BMW M4 DTMs finish in the top ten. Norisring. Following Bruno Spengler’s (CAN) victory in Saturday’s race at the Norisring (GER), it was another BMW driver who crossed the finish line in first place at the end of the eighth race of the year on Sunday: after 66 laps, two safety car phases and one red flag, Maxime Martin (BEL) took the chequered flag to claim the 75th success for BMW in the DTM having started from seventh on the grid. Martin backed up third place in Budapest (HUN) and second place on Saturday with his third DTM victory – his first since 2015 at the Nürburgring. For BMW, this was a fitting conclusion to a historic weekend at the Norisring. BMW was victorious in Nuremberg for the first time since 1992 – and, as was also the case back then, in both races. Marco Wittmann (GER), Augusto Farfus (BRA), Tom Blomqvist (GBR) and Timo Glock (GER) finished fifth, seventh, ninth and tenth to complete a fine team result, with five BMW M4 DTMs in the top ten on Sunday. Spengler came home twelfth, having been in contention for a podium finish for long periods of the race. Qualifying: As usual, the grid positions at the narrow street circuit were decided by mere thousandths of a second.

BMW Corporate Communications Media Information DTM 17th June 2017 Two podiums for BMW: Glock and Spengler finish second and third in Hungary thanks to a daring strategy. • Early pit stops bring Glock and Spengler podiums at the Hungaroring. • Spengler celebrates his first podium since Moscow 2016. • Wittmann also finished in the points in ninth place. Hungaroring. Timo Glock (GER) and Bruno Spengler (CAN) finished second and third in Saturday’s turbulent race at the Hungaroring (HUN) after a strong catch-up race, which saw them claim the third and fourth podiums of the season for BMW Motorsport. Both drivers benefitted from a daring strategy with early pit stops, which paid off after a safety car phase. Marco Wittmann (GER) in ninth also finished in the points. A collision forced Maxime Martin (BEL) and Tom Blomqvist (GBR) to retire. Augusto Farfus (BRA) was in fifth place when he was hit by a rival and the resulting spin saw him drop right down the field. Qualifying: Augusto Farfus in the Shell BMW M4 DTM achieved his best qualifying result of the season and started the race as the best-placed BMW driver in sixth on the grid. His personal fastest lap time was 1:32.275 minutes. Tom Blomqvist in the BMW Driving Experience M4 DTM in tenth place also made it into the top ten. Maxime Martin (SAMSUNG BMW M4 DTM), Timo Glock (DEUTSCHE POST BMW M4 DTM), Marco Wittmann (Red Bull BMW M4 DTM) and Bruno Spengler (BMW Bank M4 DTM) followed in positions 12, 14, 15 and 17. • DTM Thriller: Rast and Müller Cross the Finish Line Side-By-Side
Audi MediaInfo Motorsport Communications Virginia Brusch Phone: +49 151 52817968 E-mail: [email protected] www.audi-mediacenter.com/en DTM thriller: Rast and Müller cross the finish line side-by-side • Sunday’s race at the Lausitzring ends with spectacular photo finish • Audi drivers separated by only 0.089 seconds • Champion René Rast is back Lausitzring, August 16, 2020 – DTM thriller at the Lausitzring: In a spectacular Sunday’s race, title defender René Rast from Audi Sport Team Rosberg and championship leader Nico Müller from Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline crossed the finish line side-by-side in their Audi RS 5 DTM cars. 0.089 seconds separated the two Audi drivers. The last time the DTM saw such a close finish was 24 years ago. “The race was pretty entertaining,” said René Rast, who had to fight hard for his first victory of the season – especially against pole sitter Robin Frijns. The two brand mates clashed in the first corner after the start. “I had to drive through the grass in Turn 1, and also afterwards the fight with Robin was pretty hard. We pitted early to react to an undercut of Robin and Marco (Wittmann). I knew that Nico would come in the end on fresher tires. Our strategy was brave, and it got pretty tight, but fortunately it worked for us.” Nico Müller didn’t get a perfect start from second on the grid. “There was more grip than I expected,” said the Swiss. “When René and Robin did some rallycrossing in front of me, I briefly had a clear view.

Audi Sport has a special history in the DTM on the famous race track in the Eifel as well. Be it the V8, TT, A4 or A5: with every model range Audi has been active in the DTM so far the brand with the four rings has celebrated victories at the Nürburgring – a total of nine to date. The first one was achieved in 1990 by two-time World Rally Champion Walter Röhrl (Germany) in the legendary Audi V8 quattro. In 2001, the Frenchman Laurent Aiello clinched the first DTM success of the compact Audi TT at the Nürburgring. At the same time, this marked the first DTM triumph of today’s Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline that could be celebrating its 50th victory in a DTM race this weekend. The most recent Audi victory at the Nürburgring was achieved a year ago by Miguel Molina. Communications Motorsport Daniel Schuster Tel: +49 151 42134732 E-mail: [email protected] www.audi-motorsport.info Quotes after the race at the Red Bull Ring Ingolstadt/Spielberg, June 2, 2013 – After making strong recoveries, Mike Rockenfeller and Mattias Ekström as the best Audi drivers clinched positions four and five. Quotes after the DTM race at Spielberg (Austria). Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich (Head of Audi Motorsport): “It’s great that despite the adverse weather conditions in Austria so many spectators traveled to Spielberg. The crowd at the Red Bull Ring was truly impressive. And the fans saw another fantastic DTM race here. For us, it was a bit unfortunate today, though. We’re also far from agreeing with some of the decisions made by the race directors.” Dieter Gass (Head of DTM): “Basically, we can of course not be pleased with this result. We didn’t travel to Spielberg to finish fourth and fifth. We did expect more than that and on Saturday things were looking as though this would be possible. ‘Rocky’ (Mike Rockenfeller) and Mattias (Ekström) squeezed the maximum out of the situation. With a strong performance and a good strategy, they managed to finish in fourth and fifth place. The problem was that we lost the three Audi cars we had at the front of the grid during the course of the race – and thus an absolutely good result.” Mike Rockenfeller (Schaeffler Audi RS 5 DTM), 4th place “Fourth place is basically a very good result when you’ve got to start from position 13. My team did a very good job and I want to say a big ‘thank you’ to my guys.

  • Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline with Successful DTM Season Opener
Audi MediaInfo Motorsport Communications Virginia Brusch Tel: +49 151 52817968 E-mail: [email protected] www.audi -mediacenter.com/en Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline with successful DTM season opener • Three podiums at the Hockenheimring and lead of the teams’ classification • Robin Frijns in second place of the drivers’ classification Hockenheim, May 5, 2019 – Zero points a year ago, 53 points on two days and the lead of the teams’ classification this time: Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline managed a good start to the new DTM season at the Hockenheimring. “With three podiums, this has been a strong opener for us,” says Thomas Biermaier, Sport Director of ABT Sportsline. “Congrats to both drivers and congrats to the team that worked extremely hard and did three really good pit stops. We can build on this.” The strong showing at Hockenheim began with a best time set by Nico Müller in the first free practice session on Friday. Accordingly, the Swiss was disappointed when he had to settle for tenth position on the grid in the rain on Saturday and eighth in the first of the two races. “Fortunately, I was able to provide exactly the right response on Sunday and in second place score a podium finish,” said the Swiss. “With three Audi drivers on podium, it was a great day for Audi and a great day for ABT.” Müller pulled off a lightning start on Sunday with which he improved from fourth to second position. Subsequently, he had to let René Rast pass, who drove to victory with a bold two-stop strategy, but Müller decided the duel against BMW driver Philipp Eng for second place in his favor, also thanks to a faster pit stop of his team.

BMW Corporate Communications Media Information DTM 26th August 2018 Three BMW M4 DTMs in the points at Misano night race – convincing performance from guest driver Alex Zanardi. • Timo Glock, Philipp Eng and Marco Wittmann score points in a turbulent night race at Misano. • Alex Zanardi completes a faultless guest drive under difficult conditions, crossing the line in 13th position. • Marquardt: “Alex did a super job.” Misano. In the first night race in the history of the DTM, Timo Glock (GER, DEUTSCHE POST BMW M4 DTM), Philipp Eng (AUT, SAMSUNG BMW M4 DTM) and Marco Wittmann (GER, BMW Driving Experience M4 DTM) claimed seventh, eighth and ninth places to score points in the overall standings. In a turbulent race with two safety car periods, Eng and Augusto Farfus (BRA, Shell BMW M4 DTM) each took the lead at times before dropping back. Farfus finished in eleventh position, ahead of Joel Eriksson (SWE, BMW M4 DTM), while Bruno Spengler (CAN, BMW Bank M4 DTM) had to retire after a collision. Alessandro Zanardi (ITA, BMW M4 DTM) gave a convincing performance in difficult conditions and completed his guest drive by crossing the line in 13th position. Most drivers started the race on wet-weather tyres as the track dried out. Farfus and Spengler went with slicks and were rewarded early on as they moved into the top positions. However, two safety car periods bunched the field and both drivers dropped back when they had to complete their mandatory pit stops. Farfus had been in the lead when the time came for his stop.
