Esula with about 480 species is one of the most diverse and complex lineages of the giant genus Euphorbia . Species of this subgenus are usually herbaceous and are mainly distributed in temperate areas of the Northern Hemisphere. Th is paper updates the taxonomy and distribution of Euphorbia (subgen. Esula ) sect. Helioscopia in Iran since the publication of ‘ Flora Iranica ’ in 1964. We provide a key, species descriptions, illustrations (for most species), distribution maps, brief characterization of ecology as well as relevant notes for the 12 species of this section occurring in Iran. As a result of this revision, E. altissima var. altissima is reported as new for the country, and a new species from northern Iran, Euphorbia mazandaranica , is described and illustrated. With the exception of E. helioscopia , a widespread weed in temperate regions worldwide, the remaining species occur in the Alborz, Zagros and northwestern regions of Iran. Euphorbia L.

(Received: 23 July 2015 ; Accepted: 5 June 2016 ) The reptile's fauna of Sabzevar was investigated during 10 years (2003-2013). In total 42 species belonging to 29 genera, 13 families and two orders (Squamata and Testudines) were collected and identified. The most diverse group in the area is lizards with 23 species, followed by snakes with 18 species and the testudines with one species. The most diverse families are Colubridae, Lacertidae with 8 and Gekkonidae with 5 species respectively, followed by Agamidae with 4 species, Viperidae, Boidae and Scincidae with 3 species each, Lamrophiidae and Spherodactylidae with 2 species and 4 families Elapidae, Thyphlopidae, Varanidae and Testudonidae with only one species each. Key words: biodiversity; reptiles; Sabzevar; Northeastern Iran. INTRODUCTION The herpetofauna of Iran is rich and diverse. In terms of species richness and taxonomic diversity of reptiles, this area is harbor of the most remarkable reptile faunas within the western Palearctic region (Sindaco and Jeremcenkov, 2008; Rastegar-Pouyani et al., 2011). The Iranian herpetofauna consists of nine species and six subspecies of Testudines (Chelonia; turtles, terrapins, and tortoises), one species of Crocodilian, one species of amphisbaenian, more than 146 species of Lacertilia (lizards), and about 85 species of Serpentes (snakes)(Smid et al., 2014).

A. Anabstani Assistant Professor of Geography and Urban Planning, University of Ferdosi Mashhad, Iran, Abstract Development of human settlements, especially rural settlements has been largely dependent on ecological factors like suitable soil and water. Sabzevar region, enjoying all of these facilities, has Langley been a major human population center in eastern Iran. The study results show that, there is a Significant relationship between ecological factors like situation, water and farming lands and population changes as an index of rural population stability in 1966-2006, the Correlation between village Situation and annual growth rate was 0.216. Considering the study results, the following tasks are recommended to sustain the rural residency: efficient utilization of soil and water resources, supporting the rural economy, management of farmlands, deciding the farming patterns, correction of water consumption method. Iran, sand dunes Identifying active dunes and monitoring areas with migrating sand are important prerequisites for mitigating Dune mobility index these damages. With regard to this objective, the spatial variation of the wind energy environment based on the Wind energy sand drift potential (DP) was calculated from 204 meteorological stations. Three commonly used dune activity Active dune models – the Lancaster mobility index (1988), the Tsoar mobility index (2005), and the index developed by Yizhaq et al. (2009) – were used for the evaluation of Iran’s sand dune activity. The analysis of the indices showed that the dune activity was characterized by great spatial variation across Iran’s deserts. All three models identified fully active dunes in the Sistan plain, the whole of the Lut desert, as well as in the ZirkuhQaienand Deyhook regions, while the dunes in the northern part of Rig Boland, Booshroyeh and in the Neyshabor du- nefields were categorized as stabilized dunes. For other dunes, the models show a less unified activity classifi- cation, with the Lancaster and Yizhaq models having more similar results while the Tsoar model stands more apart.

In the present paper a preliminary study of the pteromalid fauna (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea: Pteromalidae) in Kurdistan Province, Western Iran is provided. The specimens were collected using sweeping nets and Malaise traps during 2009- 2010. Nine species belonging to 9 genera and to the following subfamilies are identified: Asaphinae (1 species), Miscogasterinae (1 species), Ormocerinae (1 species) and Pteromalinae (6 species). Two species, Callitula bicolor Spinola, 1811 and Stenoselma nigrum Delucchi, 1956 are recorded for the first time from Iran. Short taxonomic comments for each species are briefly mentioned. Esmail Nasrabadi Ph.D. of climatology, Farhangian University, Allameh Tabatabaei Pardis of Sabzevar, Iran. Hossein Ghoddrati Assistant Professor of Sociology, Hakim Sabzevari University, Iran. Extended Abstract Introduction Regarding the climate of Iran, from past ages, extensive efforts have been made to curb surface waters through the establishment of strap and digging of the canals. In recent years, Iran has become one of the major producer countries of dam in the world. Surface water containment is carried out by constructing dams of varying sizes from large to medium and small, and sometimes even with a small earth dam, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Small soil dams (earth-bounded water), which are the subject of this research, are of great importance for adaptation to the wide variety of topography in Iran, climate conditions and the occurrence of small and numerous floods in different areas. The construction of these dams can help to reduce the potential losses of flooding and increase the income of villagers, in addition to increasing the amount of water crops, to the proper distribution of the population and the realization of social justice. Materials and Methods The study area is a rural village in the village of Kahe, Davarzan district of Sabzevar; this village has a pecking position in the range of Joghatai highlands with a semi-temperate climate with rainfall of about 155 mm, and its seasonal rivers are adjacent to it goes on.
